It ain't the criticism that causes me to go after the poster's pissy attitude. It's the excessive Negative Nancy s*** and the overboard bashing of individual players that really would irritate anyone who, when wanting to enjoy watching games with fans of the same team (not exactly many Wings fans I know in the area to invite over during games), would realistically get tired of the horrible attitude displayed and would kindly wish they'd have the decency to keep their crap to themselves. Getting pissed off at the defense and goaltending is fine, and I'm not even suggesting none of this doesn't belong to specific players, but a very small few, overly vocal posters act like a Red Wing just shat in their cereal and they need to exact some revenge upon them personally (I've seen handfuls of people say Osgood is a horrible person on top of a horrible goalie), or like a person with Aspergers/OCD, excessively focus on one problem when it's clear as day that ain't the case either. I'd love to see these same people go into a sports bar and give the same pissy attitude to people there and watch how fast someone tells them to shut the f*** up and take their crappy, whiny attitude elsewhere. I would be one of them.

I think this was almost a must win game for us because of Babcock's comments after the last game. We needed to respond with a win and I'm glad to see that we did just that. I hate how the game was at 12:30 though, I missed it due to work.

Ozzie's puckhandling has been atrocious in the last few games. Hopefully he can get things together to close off the season here. It would be nice to have a winning streak going into the playoffs.

does the picture of the game seem to be a big jumpy or is it me?

I'm responding like two hours after the game, but what seemed really weird to me was on some of the really powerful shots from the Wings, the camera seemed to shake - like the building was shaking. Kinda like watching a Denver Broncos' game from their old stadium. ^_^

All started by Osggods crap handling of the puck.

I really don't see how anyone can objectively watch this goalie and think this is the playoff goalie. I really don't.

This kind of bulls*** fascinates me, knowing now how the game turned out. As I type this, about two hours after the game, all I know is that in about a 3-minute period, the Wings turned the puck over FOUR times in the 3rd period. OZZIE STOPPED THE THREE THAT CAME AT THE NET. HE SAVED THEIR ASSES. Your dump and chase attitude along with all the other negative Nellies on this board is, well, beyond belief.

I'm gonna PISSED if we get booted out of the playoffs simply because we lose the goaltending battles. There are 18 skaters on the ice, and every last one of ours are outplaying theirs. Yet the game is tied.

And how do you explain the four other Wings in front of the net on that one, with not one of them doing anything but making the situation worse?

....jeeeeeeeezzzzzussssssssssssssssss.....

Way to miss the entire point of the argument.

If Osgood can't make a big save, then why do we even have him? We could put anyone in net, if we're going to give them a free pass any time they face a tough stop and let it in.

I'm really looking forward to the end of these posts and end of game commentary to see how soon you praise Ozzie for his stops on the FOUR turnovers in our zone. Yesssssirreeee, I can hardly frickin' wait.

So you expect the defense to be perfect every game, with Ozzie only being called on to make easy saves?

Actually, he's proven he can't even make the easy saves like that 1st goal.

AAAAAND....I'm sure as hell looking forward to your positive comments as well about how the Oz saved their ass in the third period. Oh boy, I can hardly wait......

I love this whole money argument. Half of the wings team has taken pay cuts to stay on the wings. Does that give them permission to play like crap then, because their are other players out there that make more and play the same position.

Something must be telling most of 'em they can play like crap because up to this game, that's exactly what they were doing. In this game, they ALL came through- at various times.

Look everyone, Shoreline is accusing people again of being non-fans, because they don't have their heads up Ozzie's ass.

I'm obviously a Predators fan in disguise.

Seriously, dude, you're quickly becoming the worst poster here with you accusations and constant misquotes.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeahhh.....And you always offer such creative, positive and supportive banter on this board. I look forward to your every post; whether it's about Ozzie's stats; Ozzie's positioning; Ozzie's stupid supporters; Conklin's chances; how good the team is in spite of Oz; etc., etc., etc., etc., etc.

I have always felt variety was the spice of life and boy do you fullfill that notion, yessirrreee....

Yeah, I hate how Brad Stuart and Jonathan Ericsson both dove to block the shot. Lazy quitters.

Mebee that's because they were a little late going after their man? Hmmmmm? Somehow defensemen ending up lying down in the crease doesn't take me to a happy place.

Nice of you to roll in and cherry pick quotes from earlier in the game when he was looking like his typical self. I acknowledged he had a good third. He had to make a few stops.

Nobody complains about defense when the goalie is making saves. This is the wrost goaltending we've had in 10 years also. I guess this is just a finger pointing contest, but the defense will always make some mistakes during the game. The goalie has to bail them out. Ozzie is the worst goalie in the league right now at bailing his team out, let alone amongst playoff teams.

Gee here's another post about Oz being the worst goalie in the world - and it looks like you posted right in the middle of one of his FOUR great saves. But I'm sure you caught yourself later and commented on them...

Yes. And all goals that trickle through Osgood's legs after he turns the puck over are the result of defensive breakdowns.

OZZIE SAVED THEIR ASSES ON FOUR TURNOVERS IN LESS THAT FOUR MINUTES. Just thought I'd let you know since you're way too busy being precious and acting knowledgeable.

I don't really like to get into goaltending discussions here, because the focus on goalies is embarrassing on this board. But the guy everyone is singing the praises of here today, Backstrom, just let in the go ahead goal on an unscreened wrist shot with less than a minute to go.

PERSPECTIVE.

This will be my last post about goaltending because it is getting extremely boring and the same tired posts keep getting rehashed. I will bet the farm that Chris Osgood will not be in net when the wings play their last game this year - whether that is 16 wins or something less. I just can't recall the last time a team won the cup with the worse statistical goalie in the league. I don't think it has ever happened before.

I would love to make an avatar bet on that wager.

GMR was absent for the first two goals, and especially the early Ozzie saves (particularly on Gaborik from the circles where Ozzie was confidently way out of his net) only to conveniently show up to s*** all over Ozzie for Minnesota's first goal. How's that for rolling in?

I thought Chelios didn't look out of place.

Stuart looked a little suspect.

GOod that ozzie got some saves late.

Datsyuk cut down on the flash today...looked focused and defensive-minded.

The way the Wings started made me feel better about the playoffs, the way they finished (other than the last-minute goal) scared me again.

\Nice post and I agree with everything you've said, including some stuff I hadn't thought about. I too have a good feeling about their win today. I want to think they understand that there's no switch to turn on come playoff time. From here on (and even before this game) they will be playing desperate teams. It was a GREAT win today and I'm proud of all of 'em for laying it on the line. Even Sammy.

You know, I just want to make a comment on how great the Red Wings organization/ Olympia entertainment is. I was talking to a nice elderly couple at my work today, and they missed the game today, and got there at 5:00 like their tickets said. The box office gave them two free tickets to Round one game two of the playoffs. Now, that is class.

So I guess we should all cast our Vezina Trophy ballots for Ozzy because of this??

Why don't you just kind of unflare your nostrils, lower your chin, and exhale.

And if it's all the same with you, I'm just gonna hope the Wings, INCLUDING THE GOALIES, do well in their last few games.
