Although, I honestly dont see the NHL returning to the older rules anytime soon. Just for the record, I'm also not really a fan of the shoot out either. Its fun to watch, and I hate ties as much as anyone else but, I honestly dont find it very fair for a team who might be good at shootouts to kick a better team out of making the playoffs cause they have more shoot out wins. Couldn't agree with this more. The shootout is nothing but a side show to me. I hate the fact that it lessons the importance of coaching and defense and teams get rewarded for it.
