WingsZR2 1 Report post Posted May 4, 2009 I don't care what Babs does as long as Helm is in the lineup. That mofo hits anything that breathes.
Husker BigGuy 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2009 Put Kopecky on the ice with Hossa. Then he will play well.
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted May 4, 2009 Kopecky or Maltby. Both are ineffective. Helm and Drapes is one hell of a fast line. Can cause alot of damage. Speed alone won't score many goals. Ask Lebda.
Mike 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2009 Why? I can sense that he's right on the verge of fighting Pronger and beating the living daylights out of him. Kopecky would have to pull Pronger off of the bench because there is no way that Pronger will be out there as the same time as Kopecky. Even if he was, Pronger would not waste his time or cost his team the minutes without him to put a scrub like Kopecky in the box.

Maltby is a great penalty killer and is more valuable to the Wings than Kopecky. Kopecky is the best bet for the team to sratch when Draper is healthy. RedLightGoesOn 81 Report post Posted May 4, 2009 just dont sit Helm. This guy should have scored the game winner in Game 2, he put 120% effort in every shift. Eventually he will get a goal, but damn I am impressed.
Carl Atkins 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2009 (edited) Maltby is a great penalty killer. Maybe 5 years ago, but not now. He's a minus 3; has the most goals against and PP goals against on the team and is only on the ice for 9 minutes a game. Bench him. Carl Atkins 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2009 Speed alone won't score many goals. Ask Lebda. Pretty sure Lebda's either a) lost a step or b) lost his confidence since he tore up his knee.
ltgator333 3 Report post Posted May 4, 2009 If Malts skated a bit more and/or threw a few more hits this would be a no-brainer. As is it's tough to say but I'll say this again Helm has played too well to not be in the lineup. I'd probably rotate Malts and Kopy actually.

Bench him. Kopecky is a -1 and has 1 point. Helm is a -2 and has 0 points. Maltby has similar TOI numbers as Helm and Kopecky. It's a product of playing on the 4th line and killing penalties. Your stats are going to take a hit when you only see 10 or so minutes a game with most of it PK time. Most goals against and PP goals against is a slippery slope to judge the caliber of play because there are 3 or 4 other guys out there with him. Maltby is not at fault for every one of those goals. Maltby is a better skater and puck handler than Kopecky. Both Helm and Maltby have that fire under their asses, while Kopecky thinks he is on fire and drops to the ice to roll around all the time. Maltby is a smarter hockey player and a line of Helm-Draper-Maltby would be full of speed, face-off ability and energy. Edited May 4, 2009 by Mike

New fourth line: Helm/Leino/Abdelkader =Speed/Skill/Size A good combo to outmatch their 4th or 3rd line. Let's play our best players now, forget the loyalty and the politics.Maltby,Chelios, and Draper can be replaced by faster, bigger, more talented players. Do it now before its too late.
