lakerwings 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2009 Since I don't follow the Red Wings a lot, I was wondering the following things about Datsyuk: - Is he a selfish or unselfish player? - Is he humble and if he's humble, how often does he trash talk? - Does he hog the puck a lot? I know he's a Lady Byng candidate so I know that Datsyuk takes very few penalty and he rack up points. I would just like to learn more about him so I'm not trying to sound mean. I just need clarification.
Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted May 5, 2009 Unselfish: many players tend to tell Pavel to shoot more, especially early in his career. You will see that most of his points come from assists, not goals. He's humble, but most nhl players are, at least to the media. He isn't a puck hog- he's a playmaker

He's been talking a little more lately, probably has more to do with his English getting better. The problem is, even if he tried to trash talk, i bet nobody would understand what he was saying anyway. He's humble, but he's been getting more loose lately. A couple of years ago he didn't even celebrate his goals, but now he's pumping fists and everything
Jake Ryan 1 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 Does he trash talk to other players on the ice? If so, how often does he do it? Yeah most ppl are humble to the media. I mean is he humble on the ice? He called Chris Pronger a "тунец" in game 2, which translates roughly into "fat fish". Then he called Neidermayer "борода дедушка", which translates roughly into "bluehair". So yah, Pavel mixes in a little trash talking during the contests.

thedisappearer 291 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 Pavel in the playoffs is NOTHING like the man during the other ten months that make up the year, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Jake Ryan 1 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 "тунец" - basically Tuna "борода дедушка" - grandfather beard Yah, pretty weak trash talk, but that's cool. I'd rather it be light from Pavel. His stickwork does all the talking he needs.
