YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 The Wings played poorly for half the game. But if they played poorly for half the game, what did they do for the other half? Play well, you say? And if the Wings played well, what did the Ducks do? Play poorly, you say? So one team played well for the first 30 minutes, and got 2 goals... And the other palyed well for the second 30 minutes, and because their 30 minutes came later, they didn't deserve to have a chance at overtime? Who the f*** cares if the Wings played like s***. The tide of this game was turned. In the OT, we would've torn them to shreads. Remember what happened when the Wings were playing in OT WITHOUT their 6th Dman? I would've LOVED to see Anaheim play OT WITHOUT one of their Dmen.

Yak19 303 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 (edited) I agree with teckaholic. You guys got screwed. Honestly, if it hadn't been for that missed call I'm not so sure the Ducks could have pulled off a win. The reason the goal was not reviewed, however, is because it cannot be. If the referee blows the whistle and waves no goal, when he was intending to blow the whistle before the puck went in the net, it can't be reviewed, because technically the puck never went in during play. Not saying I agree with the rule (though it makes sense) just explaining it. Unfortunately, the ref lots sight of the puck and blew the whistle. I've been saying there's nothing we Ducks fans can complain about officiating tonight. Detroit got screwed. I'm sorry it ended like that, because I like games without referee hiccups. But, Thursday will be another test, one I am greatly anticipating Oh thank you for agreeing with the call it means so much to me. The Red Wings are an original six team and the league spits on them, the Ducks' roots come from an Emilio Estevez movie and they need to be handed games to create parity..................... SAD, SO ******* SAD! Ducks fans coming in here stating that they agree with the call is not necessary, take your free win and run away, like i ******* have to be re-assured from a ducks fan that the game was nothing more than the league giving a bum a steak... gtfo with your comments i know whats going on. Vincanni 1 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 I have to refute the claim that the Wings played like crap, credit is due to Anaheim's defensive efforts that stifled us tremendously in the 1st and as the game went on the Wings wore them out and played better for the third time in a row now. The Ducks scored two goals and so did the Wings, just one ******* decided to ruin that and taint what was otherwise a suburb game. On the matter of this threads topic, I'd be elated to know some sort of contact number I could find to file some sort of complaint so we can get a competent review system going on, or at the very least vent some to alleviate the anger this game gave me which wasn't what I stayed up till 2 am for. We could be up 2-1 right now in the series despite playing like s*** (provided we actually win in OT against this team). With that said, when you get as many SOG as we did in the 3rd, including two powerplay chances, you have to put the puck in the net more often. When you get off to s***ty starts, you put yourself in position for heartbreak in the end. This was unforeseeable heartbreak, but I don't want everyone on LGW to think that the Wings somehow played well, because they didn't. This team is playing with no confidence right now and are getting pushed around physically. If we're really that much better than Anaheim, we'll win the series 4-2. If we lose the series because of this, it means that our players are a bunch of lazy, weak minded losers, despite being far more talented than the other team. TheUkrainian 49 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 this isn't the first time a "intent to blow the whistle" call has caused controversy. I really hope it gets discussed in the offseason. I'm not a big fan of football, but the "challenge flag" idea seems very interesting at this point. Maybe it's cause it caused us to lose, even though we didn't capitalize on other chances.
