vangvace 12 Report post Posted May 26, 2009 really? When there is like 20 Indian and Korean channels offered through the international package for directv? I seriously doubt that, especially for northern border cities like Detroit and Buffalo. But are there more Indians and Koreans in directtv's broadcast area than Canadians. That and hockey and curling are about the only thing that I can recall watching on cbc that wasn't also available in the states. iirc the local network affiliates change nationwide, but the channel lineup itself is the same otherwise for satellite tv. Aeothe Kaear 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2009 If you have Comcast and live near the border, you get CBC, but only in SD. VS in HD is still better, even if you have to listen to morons.
The Winged Wheel 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2009 I love VS and everything, it's done a lot for hockey, but it's time to get it back to the big time on ESPN where it belongs.

MissyLKS8 6 Report post Posted May 26, 2009 Well, no one really cares but after the good ol' UPN 50 got rid of games we decided it was finally time to consider cable. Which we got. *FSN is a blessing by the way*. I do not get Verses and NONE of my hockey fan friends friends do. Even those who pay for more channels. And NO ONE I know gets TSN. We are in Royal Oak so we aren't in the middle of nowhere. So there are many of games I do not get to see unless I go the the gym, to a bar, or stream it. Even worst, at Wayne and in my apartment, we don't get CBS. Strange cause you's think being in actual city or Detroit, you would... but you don't. Look, I'll do anything so I don't miss a game. But I do wish it would be hack of a lot easier. The radio doesn't always work and live stream are terrible no matter how good your internet it.
stormboy 47 Report post Posted May 26, 2009 i live in MI, so i get all reg.seas games on FSN. i can get VS not being everywhere and NBC playing one game a week...but you'd think once we got to the conference finals it would be worth televising. people like watching sports. why can't the NHL be one of them? Ozzy318 3 Report post Posted May 26, 2009 I have directv in Ann Arbor. I get versus, fsn-detroit, nbc, and the nhl network. The only thing I miss from dumping comcrap is losing cbc, which was like hockey and olympic gold. I absolutely HATE listening to the morons on versus and nbc. CUJO#31 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2009 I think the criticism comes from the fact he went public to state he coudln't get the game on tv. Sort of a back ended jab at the network and the NHL by saying "how can players staying in hotels during the finals not even get the game on tv?". Implying that these games should probably be high profile enough to rank nationwide coverage. (I.E. more than vs beams out) He can get the message out without saying "hey, vs sucks, and I'm sure a LOT more people can't watch either"
