Bad Vlad Forever 1 Report post Posted June 5, 2009 they have one bad game (i thought they played well in game 3) and all of the sudden they disappeared? come on. it's starting to sound like last year around here
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted June 5, 2009 I've calmed down a lot since last night and now that I think about it, they had about two periods of bad hockey in the last two games. Granted, they were BRUTAL periods, but the Anaheim series had its fair share of those, as well. They know how to come back from this. So long as they keep their cool and don't buy into the Pittsburgh hype and mind games we'll be fine. Remember last year, having to fend off the Stars which were the "team of destiny?" They can do this, Game 5 will belong to the Wings!

C-TownWing 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2009 it's starting to sound like last year around here I was ready to jump off a bridge after game 5 of the Stars series last year. In fact, as soon as that game was over, I ran into the bathroom and ditched my beard. We (fans) just have to take a deep breath and get it back together. We've been kind of spoiled in our recent Cups, last year was the only final that went more than 5 games, and we were more or less in control throughout. We're in a competitive series, the way it's supposed to be in the finals. Anyone who thought we'd win in 5 was delusional (sorry, I know that's probably 75% of you), because Pittsburgh's a very good team. So are we though. The way some of you are talking, I hate to see what happens when we're not one of the top 5 teams in the league or maybe even miss the playoffs one year. We're 2-2 in the Cup finals, for f's sake. You'd think we were debating Tavares vs. Hedman as bad as some of you think we are. Yeah, I was pissed off last night, but now I'm ready for game 5. Best of 3 for the Cup, we have home ice. I've been saying for the longest time we have some of the most spoiled ass rotten fans, not to mention knee-jerk and jump-off-the-bridge/bandwagon 'fans' at the slightest bit of adversity. What's ironic is some of these people actually whine about this team being tough while they wuss out when the team needs their support most. Hypocrites, whiners, and pansies. Zack is Great 14 Report post Posted June 5, 2009 While I just read the forums back then, I remember people panicking after we dropped 2 in Nashville, or after the stars made it a series after we were up 3-0. It all needs to be put in perspective. This is the Detroit Red Wings. Probably the best run sports franchise currently playing in any national sport. That being said, they are a gassed, tired, and injured best run sports franchise currently playing in any national sport. The Red Wings aren't done yet by any chance. This team thrives off of adversity, they've proven it over and over again. Pavel's probably gonna be back soon, and that will give the wings a shot in the arm, just like benching Hasek did laster year. We'll be fine.

Chunkylover 26 Report post Posted June 5, 2009 Unless Datsyuk's return can inspire the team to perform at a level we've not yet seen from them, I don't believe they'll have enough energy to win game five. However the extra break between games 5 and 6, and 6 and 7 should help and I think they take 6 and the Cup in 7. They need rest like I need oxygen.
