Phazon 24 Report post Posted June 9, 2009 could the reason the wings has given up so many PP goals (except for game5) be the absence of lilja? Lilja is great blocking shots and very good on PK.

Phazon 24 Report post Posted June 9, 2009 Maybe. He also costs a lot of goals by turning the puck over. Not this season, plus he wasnt a liability in the cup win last playoffs. Who is better right now, Ericsson or Lilja?

Ericsson is more of a stickhandler and Lilja is a shotblocker. As for right now I have to say Ericsson because he is playing and Lilja is not lol.
Spinner 6 Report post Posted June 9, 2009 The PK wasn't all that great during the regular season either. So I'm not sure there'd be much difference. I'm just thankful that theBig Rig was able to step up for us.

themule0932 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2009 It's not worth arguing right now because tonight we win the cup!! Can worry about PK when next season starts.
NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted June 9, 2009 Maybe. He also costs a lot of goals by turning the puck over. How many seasons in a row of solid play does Lilja need to have for the masses to let these types of outdated comments go? He's been great the past two seasons, especially given his contract. Those that still find a need to make these comments are either trying keep the bandwagon of a couple seasons ago going or haven't watched the Wings the past two years. I don't know how long it will take for me to forgive him for that turnover in the WCF in 2007.

WingsNick5 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2009 (edited) Post title: I think wings miss Lilja on the PK My response: I don't! Sorry that he's injured, but glad that he's out. I don't think he blocks enough shots to warrant the give aways and bad plays. Sorry Lakadillia likers... Edited June 9, 2009 by WingsNick5
Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted June 9, 2009 I'm just glad Lebda hasn't been his usual defensive liability self in Lilja's absence.
