I was wondering what you guys think about next years goalie situation in Detroit. Keep in mind that Howard can't go to Grand Rapids without clearing waivers next season. Obviously the kind of Free Agent Detroit could afford is going to depend on if they re-sign certain players up front (Hossa, etc.)

I'm firmly of the opinion that Hossa should not be re-signed, and that Conklin should be extended. Start rotating in Larsson or McCollum. I still don't trust Howard at the NHL level.

Hopefully, Ozzie will be on board from day one this season, and have a better year statistically. Not that it mattered, he showed up when he was needed and nothing about the playoff results were his fault -- quite the contrary, he was the reason they stayed in a couple of games they had no business winning.

Conklin did an admirable job this season, I love the guy. Why mess with success? He's a good fit here, and I have never been sold on Howard (sorry).

Conklin would love to stay here. That's fine and dandy...but when some other team offers him $2.5m, do you think he stays in Detroit for no raise?

Colorado could use a goaltender. Edmonton doesn't have anyone who has shown they can play at the NHL level. Other teams looking for a strong backup or 1B goaltender might even offer him $1.5m or $2m to come there. St. Louis, Toronto, Anaheim (if they trade Giguere), Calgary, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Tampa Bay all might come calling on Conklin as well.
