cusimano_brothers 1,655 Report post Posted June 26, 2009 From tsn dot com: The Boston Bruins are in pursuit of Tomas Kaberle and a top 10 pick in today's draft. Sources tell TSN the Bruins have offered restricted free agent forward Phil Kessel to Toronto in exchange for the Leaf defenceman and Toronto's No. 7 pick in the draft. Motown4013 350 Report post Posted June 26, 2009 From tsn dot com: Kaberle and the 7th pick for Kessel....that is a horrible deal for the Leafs....of course, they are good at making horrible deals. I dont think this one will go through at all. Maybe Kessel for Kaberle, straight up but Burke wont part with that 7th pick IMO

Maybe Kessel for Kaberle, straight up but Burke wont part with that 7th pick IMO Kessel is a solid young player but this trade offer makes no sense for the Leafs - he is worth more than just Kaberle but not Kaberle and the 7th overall pick - I think this rumor loses it's legs early. BlakKy 58 Report post Posted June 26, 2009 (edited) Burke has said since day one he wont be trading draft picks for anything besides higher draft picks. I don't think he will be trading a Blue chipper and his shot at Zack Kassian or Brayden Schenn for someone that is supposedly in purgatory with coaching staff day in and day out. Kaberle will be traded either today or after July 1st. Once Boston fails to bring in a great dman before all the FAs are gobbled up they will be willing to pay a lot more for someone of Kaberle caliber.
