So the game's already ended, but it's worth discussing the results:

http://www.pointstreak.com/prostats/boxsco...?gameid=1093188

Final: Detroit 4 Dallas 1

Scoring:

Detroit Red Wings - Mitchell Callahan (Sergei Kolosov) 11:29 2nd

Dallas Stars - Jamie Benn (Zak Stebner, Tomas Vincour) 15:13 2nd

Detroit Red Wings - Landon Ferraro (Willie Coetzee) 17:50 2nd

Detroit Red Wings - Jan Mursak (Cory Emmerton) 18:26 2nd

Detroit Red Wings - Logan Pyett (Brent Raedeke, Andrej Nestrasil) 16:48 3rd

Other Notes:

Callahan had a roughing minor and fighting major, giving him 14 PIM in only 4 games (with 2 fights).

Top Red Wings Scorers in the Tournament (4 games):

1. Tomas Tatar © -- 3g / 2a / 5pts / +5

2. Jan Mursak (LW) -- 2g / 3a / 5pts / +1

3. Brian Lashoff (D) -- 2g / 1a / 3pts / +2

4. Brent Raendeke (LW) -- 2g / 1a / 3pts / -1

5. Corry Emmerton (LW) -- 1g / 2a / 3pts / +3

Full List

EDIT:

With no points tonight, Tatar slipped down to 5th in tournament scoring (noting that 4 teams are still playing so that could fall lower).

Slightly OT, but I think it would be deadly if Landon Ferraro got traded to Brandon (his dad's junior team where he scored 108 goals one year) this season for the 2010 Memorial Cup. Red Deer hasn't really had a good team since Brent Sutter was their coach. I'd love to see how many goals he could score with some great linemates like Brayden Schenn and Matt Calvert.

That'd be awesome. You're right-- he's definitely going to put up fewer goals on a weak team like Red Deer than he would on a strong team.

I thought Brian Lashoff also had a fighting major or was that a misprint?

Oh so do we maybe have a big, physical defenseman in Lashoff who can drop the mitts a bit? Or was this a once in a lifetime thing?

Andrej Nestrasil had a quietly impressive tournament with 3 points in 4 games.

Mursak had a goal last night and finished with 5 points in 4 games including at least 1 in every game. Very encouraging signs for Jan.

Look what happens when we finally play McCollum, we get a comprehensive victory!

No, he's just dodging out of the way so fast that the camera can't pick him up clearly.

I read that in this fight (on some article somewhere) that it started with Callahan landing some big ones, but eventually the bigger and older Ranger evened things out, and probably took the 'win'. He's still very small/young.

Andy Bezeau mk 2? :P

I just heard an interview with him here (http://bit.ly/tBFYX). Talks about how he's taken some boxing and wrestling lessons, and wants to have more of a scoring (as opposed to energy) role this season, but still fighting a lot. Oh, and it turns out that he didn't lose his two front teeth in a fight - he got hit by a puck there when fooling around with some friends during the offseason :P

I've reserved my enthusiasm for McCollum until he has a season of pro hockey under his belt. Remember how impressive Stephen Liv was before he came over to the AHL? :(
