You and I subscribe to a different code of ethics, no biggie. I prefer to surround myself with those who say "I will be honest at all costs and I will work harder than everyone else and I will win." than "I can lie a little bit, afterall, everyone else does and besides, I got called for a penalty when I shopuldn't have ealire in the game and if you look at it that way I'm really just making it right".

Also,I'm not real clear on what you're saying here: "it doesn't make you a ***** unless you get tappedon the sholder and fall like a sack of brick". Can I extrapolate from that that it does make you a ***** if you get tapped on the shoulder and fall like a sack of bricks? If so, will you call Pavel Datsyuk a ***** if I can provide a video of exactly that happening?

Ive never seen datsyuk do that, but yes if you had video evidence. I have probably a stricter code of ethics than you but there i nothing unethical about selling a call that should be made. Hard work will give you chances to embellish for instance, when I am standing in front of the net playing and equivalent to Homer's role I get slashed, butt ended, tugged on, but I don't go down, not until the refs start to take notice and that one pivotal moment of the game comes and I go down convincingly. There is nothing to that besides strategy, patience, and smarts noting unethical about it.

I do see a difference between "embellishing" and "diving". Playing against a team like the Ducks, that purposefully play dirty knowing the refs will not catch it all, I can't really fault someone like Holmstrom going down in an attempt to draw some attention to the amount of abuse he takes.

Crosby swan diving and laying motionless on the ice after Maltby barely clipped him on the back of the skate was hard to defend.

Franzen was guilty of that against Anaheim (and so was Pronger).

I disagree. Diving is dishonest and brings nothing good to the game. Play hard, every shift. If someone knocks you down, get up. If someone doesn't knock you down, stay on your feet. Be so ******* good that you absorb more punnishment than the cheaters and still beat them on the scoreboard. Play the game like good men live their lives.

If you don't like being sticked and the refs aren't taking care of it, don't flop down on the ice, take care of it yourself.

Perhaps Holmstrom could consider spending more time redirecting pucks into the net and getting his old form back and less on deciding when he should fall down on purpose and when he shouldn't.

I never said he did that but when I'm playing myself thats what happens. Taking cheapshots away from the play is dishonest I'm sure you condone that, the sport of hockey is very complex, every little thing you do to win can be positive provided you aren't putting others in harm's way illegally.

I agree with this.

Also, I'd prefer it that you show me a video, because I like to view things on a case-by-case basis, and not made a blanket statement to judge a player. I don't think Sidney Crosby is a diving butt puncher because of the few incidents he has had in the past.

Unfortunately, it is often the retaliation that gets caught and punished.

If you mean a video of Dats flopping to the ice getting sticked in the shoulder, I'm screwed, I don't have one - and I don't ever recall that happening. If you want just any video, this one is kicks ass:
