e_prime 1,936 Report post Posted September 19, 2009 Reich is just a decent middleweight. The Islanders need a heavy on their team. They always let them go too easily. First Cairns, then Godard and last year Fritz. I'd love it if the Wings had "just a decent middleweight" Also, the Isles have both (Jeremy) Reich and (Joel) Rechlicz. Confusing, I know. ...and they both like to fight so even easier to mix up.

I guess I'm not well versed in minor league fighters, except when Scott Parker was playing in the minors, when he was touted as the next Bob Probert.

Rechlicz is 22, decent size 6'4 220 but he has no hands whatsoever. He's been working with the Islanders for a couple years now specifically to become their full time enforcer. He is a good skater and hitter and will fight anyone but he has some work to do before he can hang with top NHL heavies

I hadn't either until I really started looking at who might fill out the Isles roster this season. I've been in NY for five years now and never really given any of the three teams the time of day, other than a passing glance. I know that the Isles are probably not a great choice for putting together a winning season, but I think part of the reason I'd like to follow them is 1.) To look at how teams that aren't the Wings try to piece together a team. 2.) Follow a team that won't be a challenge for my primary team, the Wings.
