Steve Ott.

Who did he cry to? (Serious question, I don't know what you're referring to). I got the impression from your post that there would be more than one.

I think his freak out when Kronwall hit Ribeiro was enough to show he is a little baby when a hit is placed on his team member.

He was the first name to pop out of my head. How many are you looking for? Five? Ten? Fifty?

However many you got, I guess. What crying did Ott do after Kronwall hit Robero?

In addition to the crying, did he attempt to fight the player who laid the clean and heavy hit on his teammate, in the way that so many decades of NHL greats did before him?

Oh yeah I forgot. You believe a body check deserves a fight.

It wasn't even that heavy of a hit.

"Waaaa you hit my guy! Stop it now or I'm gonna get mad!"

Can't see it, youtube doesn't work at work:( I bet that Ott was really being a crybaby ***** though. Probably complaining to the refs and appealing to Gary Bettman himself via celphone at Center Ice.

I agree with you that there's no crying in hockey (or baseball). Players should take it up with eachother when they feel a player is out-of-line. Why didn't Ott just send the message to Kronwall, "if you want to throw your body at one of my guys, you have to fight me!" instead of crying about it? Handle things like Gordie Howe did, except more overtly and less dirty, you know? No cheap elbows or stickwork behind the play like Gordie was famous for, just a straight up, mano y mano fight to send the message.

You know what made Stevens special? It wasn't that he could hit. Nobodies like Kronwall can hit. stevens could hit and play AND was willing and able to stick up forhimself and answer the bell. He didn't reley on the refs or enforcers to protect him, he releyed on himself. That's the kind of player a kid can really look up to.

Or maybe hitting him back? Physically pounding him during the play?

He was also much larger than Kronwall.

Why wait?

Much larger. Same height, and Scott had 8 lbs on Kronwall.

More like a couple inches and 20-30 pounds.

Source?

Hockey db has Kronner at 6'0", 192lbs. Stevens is listed at 6'0", 200 lbs.

Here's an update

TORONTO -- The National Hockey League suspended New York Islanders forward Pascal Morency for five regular season games and the remainder of the pre-season Monday.

Morency had been suspended indefinitely after receiving a game misconduct for leaving the bench to start a fight with Calgary defenceman Dion Phaneuf in a game last Thursday.

Phaneuf's hit knocked out Islanders forward Kyle Okposo in the second period of the Flames' 5-4 shootout victory.

Morency jumped off the bench and charged Phaneuf, starting a brawl that included New York goalie Martin Biron. Okposo remained motionless for more than six minutes. He was immobilized and removed from the ice on a stretcher.

Morency has already served two games of the suspension. He will miss the remaining three games on the Islanders pre-season schedule in addition to the five regular season games.

Yo Morency, Ima let you finish, but Steve Downie's pre-season suspension was the greatest suspension of ALL TIME.

I've got cash money that says Phaneuf doesn't square off with Morency or anyone else on the Isles the next time the Flames and Islanders play (March 25). I have less of a problem with what Morency did that with what Phaneuf did.

The suspension seems waaayyyy over the top. I guess the league is doing some "message sending" with this suspension. *shrugs* whatever, better now than later in the season. (side note: what does it mean when the league does "message sending" about "message sending"?)
