MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted October 13, 2009 Toskala apparently injured, whether it's physical or emotional, nobody really cares. Joey MacDonald starts tonight against Colorado, James Reimer will back him up. Gustavsson is expected back on the weekend.
cusimano_brothers 1,655 Report post Posted October 13, 2009 From Toronto Star : ... The way Wilson saw it, his club could have used "a key save" or two. At the same time, his club was scored on very early in each period, reflecting a team-wide breakdown. ... ... "I don't know if Vesa thinks he should have had any of them (goals)," Wilson said. "But a couple of times we could have used a key save. We kept battling but that fourth goal seemed to discourage us, and that's (a problem). We had guys who didn't want to take a hit to start a play after that." ... ... "It's a two-way street, they (players) have to bail me out and I have to bail them out," Toskala said. "I have to be better. I don't know right now, this team, we have to find a way to be ready when the puck drops." ...
Guest ZetterbergFourty Report post Posted October 13, 2009 I happened to catch this game. It really doesnt help any when you have shmucks like Jason Blake cross-checking players right into the goalie. The game was going fairly good for the Leafs untill that point. Leaf fans are ******* idiots if they dont blame that horrible loss on Blake. Most goaltenders would be rattled after a smash like that. He didnt ***** foot it either, he ran that player right over Toskala. In turn, Toskala fell akwardly and was slow to his feet, I'm surprised he even remained in the game. Toskala isnt the greatest goaltender, but I dont see this as being his fault at all. Blame Blake.
