I remember in Zetterberg's Spotlight Feature on FSN than when he talked about that loss it looked as if he was about to cry. I suppose that loss really hits close to home, npi.

Stefan Liv allowed 7 goals in 2 periods.

7-0 (2-0,5-0,0-0)

I've never liked Liv, but you can't blame more than 1 or 2 goals on him.. Sweden were just beyond awful and didn't seem to care.

How did Forsberg play?

Kind of like what you'd expect from someone who has barely played a game in years. The talent is most definitely still there, but not the pace and the tempo.

He was probably one of the better swedish players in the 3-game tournament, but that doesn't say a lot. He needs to start practicing with a real team (instead of juniors like he has been) to get his legs going. At times he was really impressive though, and I have no doubt that he could still be a very good player in the NHL, but like I said he needs some time to get into game-shape.

I chuckeled a little, got to love your passion for the game. That is one of the main reasons I still come here, It is so cool to see how many Wing's fans are from other countries. Simply Incredible. I wish the average North American Fan had the passion you guys do.

On another note can anyone say how Forsberg played?

EDIT: Just read post above me. Sorry for being dumb.

try read a history book or just google the history of past tournaments. you might find some contradiction in your statements

yes that belarus game was a choke and it was a harsh way to get eliminated. but you know what make it easier to live with? lots and lots of gold medals. olympic gold medals and WCH gold medals.

how's your memories from past tournaments?

well silver is good sometimes also.. i could actually enjoy the silver medal we got in 2003.. oh you don't remember? hm 2003, finland was the host nation that year, playing on home ice in front of their own people. after several disappointing eliminations past tournaments, they were hyped to win and redeem themselves in front of a home crowd this year. They are winners and not chokers like their little brother Sweden as we already know! anyway.. Finland and Sweden play eachother in the quarter finals. Finland up 5-1 in the second period. Sweden (with forsberg stepping up) scores 5 unanswered goals to win the game 6-5 and advance to semis while finland got eliminated.

so yeah.. silver is not too shabby sometimes!

cheers!

We do choke against Sweden big time, like in once a decade. Horrible memories,

Ugh,that video is proof enough why Foppa should just call it quits. Fast.

at least you won gold against us in 1995! those should be good memories.. i remember that day like it was yesterday. i celebrated my 10th birthday and had a birthday party the very same day the finals were played. me and some of my friends watched the game and after sweden lost i just sat in my room and didnt want to do anything for the rest of the day.. worst birthday ever

i don't even wanna know how it felt to lose the olympic finals 2006... or after that 6-5 comeback on home ice in 2003. woah
