AtlantaHotWings 1,124 Report post Posted November 24, 2009 Hey all Back in town visiting family and got two tickets for Friday nights game. Big question haven't drove down to the Joe in recent years. What is traffic like downtown these days and how much time should I allocate for the drive down from Flint. Also any suggestions for a good pregame meal are appreciated. Thanks
WpgMikos 17 Report post Posted November 25, 2009 Better give yourself 60 minutes at least. Traffic around the Joe isn't too bad. There really aren't alot of places within walking distance and eating at the Joe isn't great. You could always go to Cheli's or Hockeytown. I believe they have shuttles that leave from there to the Joe. Enjoy the game.

syntax 359 Report post Posted November 25, 2009 First off, sorry you have to visit Flint. We usually leave Flint about an hour and a half before puck drop, that way we do not feel rushed. Traffic downtown is pretty light, but we take 75 south, to 375 to W. Jefferson to Washington to Congress and park on the Cobo Roof. You can also park at Greektown Casino, in the parking garage, and walk up through the casino and take the People Mover to the Joe. As far as food, Cheli's/Hockeytown, and the Pegasus in Greektown are good bets. The aforementioned ideas are good ones too.
