I already said it before in the "value" thread: Raffi is overpaid. I know people have already poked at the "Stuart has been terrible" comment... but I have to reiterate that I agree with this ranking of our defensemen this season. Well, I'd think if he could do them effectively, he would. Those things you mentioned are things he just doesn't do very well, and doing those things is not why he was signed. I'm not saying he's playing well, but he was brought here to play an up tempo, offensive game which he did effectively. Now that we are a more defensive team, his strengths are negated and his weaknesses more glaring. Rafs play, though is just a symptom of Detroit's changed style of play. GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted November 27, 2009 I like Rafalski, but to me he is the most frustrating and overpaid player on the team. $6 million for a very talented offensive d-man, but one that is very weak in his own zone.
