Howard is proving me wrong so far this season. Still not putting up great numbers, but he is getting the most important stat - Wins. So I can't complain.

I'm impressed with all of our young guys, they are bringing the energy each and every night. Although It's killing me seeing Helm create so many opportunities and is just missing I can tell he just needs one to go in.

But that gives me hope, a lot of teams would die to have the ability our team still has with puck control and chances.

Just got to keep our head above water and salvage some points until we can get Flippula back so we can start experimenting with lines more.

I LOVED what I saw from Abdelkader tonight. Say what you will, but I think he has a shot at being a David Backes type player. Not a true PF, but a guy who can hit and drive the net. He needs to hit the weight room a bit, but he could be a tough guy to handle down low if he gets that strength. He already has the mindset (I thought his penalty was unfortunate, but a great drive to the net) and, imo, the hands. He has the size at 6'1. He's listed at 212, but I absolutely do not believe that (they also have Lidstrom at 190 and Zetterberg at 195. LOL). He looks 190 at most. Once he gets his off-season stuff up to NHL standards, he'll be a pretty decent-sized guy.

I'd really love to see him get some minutes with a Datsyuk or Zetterberg. He'd be the only guy on those lines who makes a beeline for the front of that net, and that's a huge lack on those lines right now.

Oh yeah, I'd never accuse you of flaming me.

Where'd the Pink Floyd stuff go? Seasonal change? I was hoping the Floyd stuff would get us through the tough times, like in the playoffs when you would play a certain album.

If there's one area where you don't have to worry about Abdelkader it's the gym. He's definitely ahead of the curve when it comes to physical preparation for the game. From what I've read he was considered a gym-rat in college and he spends the summers working out as intensely as possible.

Couldn't watch the game but followed it on the BlackBerry and caught the highlights this morning. I changed something in my personal routine for the sake of good luck and so far, so good. I'm glad Bert got the big SO goal. He's worked hard and deserved that. So has the entire team.
