blankrap 9 Report post Posted November 30, 2009 He got away with the knee on knee the other day and gets suspended for this elbow to the head. I hate this guy.

Carman 387 Report post Posted November 30, 2009 Glad he's getting suspended hopefully I can see less of the "OMG BETTMAN'S PENGUINS". Cooke is an idiot for that hit.

I would like to see a lot less of the bertuzzi sucks threads. FFS, how many do we need?
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted November 30, 2009 About time he got suspended for something. Ask Shean Donovan if he thinks two measly games is enough, though.
jollymania 162 Report post Posted November 30, 2009 Cooke has had about 3 knee on knees (2 serious injuries, 1 that probably was but it was late in the playoffs for carolina) between suspensions, he deserved more to make up for past offences, but again the nhl is too sheepish to throw the book on one of these useless cheapshot artists that already get away with way too much. Third Man In 2,091 Report post Posted November 30, 2009 Considering Penguins don't even get the suspensions that are supposed to be automatic, I'm happy Cooke got anything at all.
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted November 30, 2009 The NHL gets one right. Now if only they'd done this for the very similar Richards hit.
commadore183 103 Report post Posted November 30, 2009 The NHL gets one right. Now if only they'd done this for the very similar Richards hit. That's the infuriating thing about officiating and discipline in the NHL today is the lack of consistency with punishment. Cooke got away with how many knee-on-knee hits this year? Three? And yet, he gets nailed with an elbow to the head suspension (which is the right call, by the way). I wonder if Cooke's idol is Pronger ? League needs to be more consistent with the penalties and suspension if they want to stop plays like that or the knee-to-knee ones
