MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted December 4, 2009 (edited) The Philadelphia Flyers have fired head coach John Stevens, Sportsnet can confirm. The Flyers are currently 10th in the Eastern Conference with a 13-11-1 record. Stevens took over for Ken Hitchcock in 2006. More details to follow ... http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/2009/12/04/flyers_head_coach/ I believe it's rumoured that Peter Laviolette will take over, but that's not confirmed. WpgMikos 17 Report post Posted December 4, 2009 TSN is also reporting that it might be Laviolette. My thought is that perhaps the Flyers are hoping for a Penguins like renewal.
cjm502 165 Report post Posted December 4, 2009 Stevens was a careless idiot. Him coaching at NHL level is a complete joke. Now confirmed, Laviolette is the new coach.

Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted December 5, 2009 If they really wanted to get in Sid's head, they'd have hired Therrien. Where's that photoshop of Terrien's head over every single person's face in the crowd that Matt did in the 07-08 playoffs?
