NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted December 8, 2009 Good for Shanny. I was 8 when my family moved to Green Bay. I saw Sterling Sharpe in a Best Buy and after I finally mustered up the courage to go ask him for an autograph he simply looked at me and said, "no" and then walked away. I've never forgotten that. ****** Bag

PotbellyJoe 10 Report post Posted December 8, 2009 (edited) I got snubbed by Kirby Puckett in Florida during Spring training. I shed no tears when he was hit with the baseball. I was 12. It was his birthday that day and i stood along a fence to the stadium from the players' lot. My twin sister and I sang him happy birthday and asked for any autograph, he looked at us and kept walking. Edited December 8, 2009 by PotbellyJoe

That's a cool story. The Steelers were so awesome back then. I liked the commercial with Mean Joe Greene. You should have told him you were the kid in the commercial! up2here 41 Report post Posted December 8, 2009 Vaive was a great goal-scorer but apparently his people skills need some work. I saw him at a charity event in PEI just a few years ago and he was stand-offish and unfriendly then too. I do have a friendly celebrity story tho. I literally brushed arms with Steven King at a bookstore in New Hampshire a few years ago and then realized it was Steven King. I guess I was going through a bit of an honesty kick and told him that I thought his books had gone downhill a bit but that i was still a fan. We had a 20 minute conversation and he said he appreciated the honesty and signed a copy of 'Different Seasons'.
