The point is it is silly to say "I feel more comfortable with Howard in net than Osgood" when that SHOULD be the case considering the teams each of them play. Osgood hasn't looked great but he has been trusted to play against the best teams. Howard has looked solid, and is the man to play against the lower tier teams.

Still, Ozzy hasnt done much the past few games we have played. Howie has been stealing games for us. This is going to be how it is until Ozzy kicks it in to playoff shape.

Stealing games? Really?

And Pucks, do you even understand what you are saying? You believe having a "struggling" Osgood start against all the better teams with the better offense will help him play better? Based on what?

Based on all the stupid logic around here when people say Osgood always ramps up his game when it matters most. Right? He's a money goalie right? Can't get up unless its a great challenge right? Playing against the best teams in the league surely would bless us with his majesty's services, right?

Let me ask you a question since you seem confused. Who can earn the team more points? Osgood starting against Chicago? or Howard starting against the worst 5 teams in the league?

This team is so amazing and they have a very, very bright future for many years to come. I am absolutely astonished how gutsy this team is. They never say die and, even with a $33something roster, they are still giving healthy teams a run for their money ( and more times than not, winning )

I am so f'ing proud of this team.

P.S. Helm is a fricken spark plug! That kid gives me the chills every-time he's out there on the ice, he makes things happen. He's a constant threat no matter what he's doing.

I expect Ozzie to stand on his head against the Hawks. Wings can beat the Hawks if they play like they did against Dallas. Hopefully the Refs will be consistent. When that Dallas player grabbed Helm's jersey and tried holding him back, no call. 20 seconds later after Helm's jersey being stretched as he tried skating to the defensive zone, Dallas scores. That was one of the worse non-calls I've seen in awhile. Stars got to do what they wanted and Wings were getting 2 minutes for looking at a Dallas players cross-eyed. You'd think NHL would have better referring, but they are bush league.

Bert-Dats-Homer line is a freaking beast! This team is going to steam roll once (if) healthy! Red Wings are, by far, the most gutsy and resilient team in the league.

Howard can earn the most points because he is playing against five teams while Osgood is only playing against one.

Finally we agree. So why wasn't Osgood playing in 5 games and Howard in the 1? I think we both know. Let's stop acting dense.

Too bad you missed the part where your question doesn't say anything about Howard's talent, just that if your goaltender plays more games than the other, he has a chance to win more points.

Well no s***.

Hey guys, do you mind starting a Howard vs Osgood thread for your conversation. It's kinda off topic to this thread and I really don't feel like reading a Howard vs Osgood thread.

Thanks.

Sorry, I apologize. I'm tired of banging my head against a wall anyway.

Helm was really good. Too bad he couldn't get one ,he deserved it. Datsyuk looked like himself today and that's a real good sign. Bertuzzi is starting to get some confidence. He would have passed that shot in the slot a week ago.

Despite barley losing today, we were the better team and could have, should have won. I am so f'ing proud of this team! Babcock deserves props for keeping this team as still one of the best in our conference.

It is surprising how well these guys have been playing.

Time will tell, however, if this is simply guys playing out of their minds or if this is actually the kind of team that can play like this for and 82 game season.

Referees were unbelievable with stuffing the whistles tonight.

The officiating was an absolute joke tonight. I don't care what I look like, I'm calling it how it is-it was f***in embarrassing to watch. Slashes, holds, everywhere and all they call are a couple dinky ones on Dallas all night. f*** off, I'm so sick of this.
