king_malice 17 Report post Posted January 20, 2010 (edited) ive read multiple reports saying the oilers are willing to move anyone in there line-up for the right price they want to rebuild. Souray said he would be willing to waive his NTC also.holmstrom is a free agent along with a few other,(meech, lebda, lidstrom, maltby). id like a few guys off the oilers, if the wings trade or dont resign holstrom(age:36) dustin penner 21G-20A lidstrom retires or resigns cheap, we could take souray/visnovsky other guys you would fit nice on the wings patty o'sullivan, hemsky theres to many to list. AtomicPunk 296 Report post Posted January 20, 2010 If they are so good, why are they willing to let go of "eveyone" off their roster?

There is nothing that I'd want from that garbage of a roster. Penner is about the worst idea I've ever heard. He's only briefly stopped sucking in my opinion. But more importantly, his contract is MUCH too large and too long. It would cripple any spending on more useful players that could be gotten for the same money. As far as the other players, every single one has a painful lack of at least one of the following: heart, work ethic, fitness, size/strength on the puck, hockey intelligence or simple skill. Yes, I really hate the Oilers. Edit: Don't forget class. People throw the word around too much, but really. If anyone is lacking, it's the Oilers. king_malice 17 Report post Posted January 20, 2010 i agree i dont like the oilers either and yes penners contract is big but the guy does have 41pts this season and is playing with no one near as good as zetterberg or datsyuk and is a big guy for the front of the net and getting in on the forcheck and hammering D. i think he would fit good on the 2nd line say with cleary and zetterberg. AtomicPunk 296 Report post Posted January 20, 2010 Do you know what Penner is making? How we would fit in another "second liner" under the cap? He has 41 points because THEY HAVE NO ONE ELSE. And I obviously know nothing because...I challenge your endless posts about a trade everytime someone says someone is available?
GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted January 20, 2010 Ales Hemsky is done for the season. I think the Wings have enough injuries to contend with, let alone making a trade for one.
Shady Ultima 40 Report post Posted January 22, 2010 Why do you constantly suggest we trade away half the players on our team? Holmstrom is going nowhere. If we traded him, a career Red Wing, we'd be no better than the oilers... What kind of stupid team would trade away Gretzy anyway?

I believe it was a money issue that led to Gretzky's trade, not the management thinking "Ho hum, I think it's time for a new direction." Sheldon Souray is probably gone at or before the deadline. If he wasn't so injury prone, I'd want to see if the Oil would take Lebda/Meech/Leino/picks for him.
HOCKEY MATTERS 167 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 (edited) OP. I would think if you wanted people with any degree of intelligence to respond favorably to your posts, as out in left field as they may be, use some punctuation, sentence structure, grammar and capitol letters. If your just goofing, your opening post is cool. If you want to be taken seriously........ Just sayin. edit: Wow. Start a thread like this and then disappear. I am surprised. newfy 695 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 Jason Strudwick would be a nice Lilja replacement. Probably an improvement over Lilja actually. He's a free agent at seasons end and is only making 700,000. Its possible.

Souray has a big cap hit w/ 1 or 2 years remaining. Not an option for the Wings. Plus, the Oil will probably be wanting to trade East not West OP.
