interminded 1 Report post Posted February 10, 2010 You would want Turco? Well maybe...he can play decent in the regular season then I guess we will throw Ozzie in net come playoffs if we make it. Its the perfect combo that's funny actually... lol
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted February 10, 2010 Yeah, we should get Turco. He rocks at the JLA.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted February 10, 2010 Turco could end up in Philly. Their goalie situation is an absolute mess. I'm not so sure. Leighton has been a pleasant suprise for them, and Emery can actually play pretty well when he's on.

CenterIce 83 Report post Posted February 10, 2010 This is true. ESPN's insider has Philly talking with Dallas for Turco. So, we shall see.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted February 10, 2010 ESPN's insider has Philly talking with Dallas for Turco. So, we shall see. Does this mean Leighton would be moved again? Or would they save themselves the embarassment of another Emery meltdown and waive him?
Guest Howard He Do It?! Report post Posted February 10, 2010 Does this mean Leighton would be moved again? Or would they save themselves the embarassment of another Emery meltdown and waive him? Philly would be stupid to move Leighton. Then again, Philly did sign Pronger to a 7 year deal after he turned 35.
wingsdiehard13 33 Report post Posted February 10, 2010 Philly would be stupid to move Leighton. Then again, Philly did sign Pronger to a 7 year deal after he turned 35. Before. They were "investigated" for having him sign a long-term deal and talking about retiring before the end of it so they could lower the cap hit.
FinWing 26 Report post Posted February 11, 2010 (edited) I don't get this trade. A promising young defenseman and a pick for a goalie that has only had one season of being entirely healthy... Don't get it at all. It's a risky move but could end up being a steal for the Stars, Lehtonen is one of the most talented goalies in the league and a big guy too. They just have to pray he stays healthy. Edited February 11, 2010 by FinWing
Guest Howard He Do It?! Report post Posted February 11, 2010 Before. I thought it turned out that the deal didn't take effect until after Pronger had already turned 35.
wingsdiehard13 33 Report post Posted February 11, 2010 Turns out your right, it doesn't kick in until he turns 35, interesting. ESPN The Pronger deal is different because even if Pronger, who will turn 35 before the seven-year extension kicks in next summer, retires, the Flyers will take an average cap hit of $5 million annually for the life of the contract. At least that's the league's take on the deal.
drwscc 212 Report post Posted February 11, 2010 Our local Texas Stars are really going to miss Vishnevskiy out there.
stevkrause 1,247 Report post Posted February 11, 2010 (edited) this is such a gamble - if Lehtonen ends up staying healthy and getting back to form, this is a fleecing for DAL... HOWEVER If Lehtonen doesn't return to at LEAST 95% of what he was and continues to battle injuries, this is a fleecing for ATL... either way, this trade is going to drastically favor one side (unless Vishnevsky develops into a top 2 d-man AND Lehtonen returns to form, then it is an even trade - not expected) it's just a matter of which side that is over time... It's gambling for both sides, not only about Lehtonen. Vishnevskiy hasn't proven anything yet. He was given opportunities, but he just didn't improve as fast as people were expecting. There has been also rumors about him going to KHL.

Your post comes across as contradictory, but I was saying the same thing... EDIT - there I edited my original post for clarity, but basically what I was saying was the same thing, one way or another, this trade is most likely going to drastically favor when side when all is said and done Edited February 11, 2010 by stevkrause
Finnish Wing 110 Report post Posted February 11, 2010 so... you're adding to my thought? Your post comes across as contradictory, but I was saying the same thing... Well basically you were saying: if Lehtonen stays healthy and plays well Stars win and if Lehtonen doesn't stay healthy and doesn't play well Thrashers win.
