Pat 44 Report post Posted February 11, 2010 (edited) Personally I believe that the wings need to get rid of stuart. He provides little to no offense, is a slow skater when coming back on defense, and makes bad turnovers in our zone. What I believe they should do: Send Brad Stuart + Draftpick from Ville Leino trade to Anaheim for Teemu Selanne. Selanne's Cap #: $2,625,000 Stuart's Cap #: $3,750,000 Cap Space Freed: $1,125,000 This would nearly allow Lilja to be added to the roster, and would occur if the wings waived a forward/defenseman. This is just what I think should occur, as this team needs some offense(hes great on PP). Post what you think of this and or other solutions you think are necessary to making it to the playoffs. McAwesome 754 Report post Posted February 11, 2010 As much as I think they need a shake-up, I do not see the Red Wings making any major roster moves. I think May will be waived, he will clear and spend the rest of the regular season in GR to be called up in the playoffs. Lebda will either be waived, or traded for a low draft pick, it will mainly be a salary dump, but if we get something in return for him, that would be OK, especially given the prowess of our scouting staff with finding mid to late round gems. I would like to see either Afinogenov or Kozlov brought in, but again I don't see it happening realistically, asking price for Afinogenov would be higher than we can afford, and Kozlov's cap hit would put us over. Afinogenov could be had for picks, and that would work out well for the Wings in the long-run. We have plenty of prospects coming that we can afford to get rid of two or three picks and Lilja for him. I agree, Kozlov is too expensive to even consider. He would be a terrible pick up.
