Guest mindfly Report post Posted February 13, 2010 Maybe because everyone was constantly cheap-shotting him? Besides I've seen him make 10x more plays where he SHOULD have fallen down but managed to stay on his feet than I've seen him embellish and fall. Stay classy, Mr.Yzerman. As he did other players (Chelios comes to mind). But even with the iffy viewing angle from this video, Forsberg didn't go down the way most peeps would go down after being pummeled in the gut. Of course you won't agree with that but that's my take after watching the video. I watched him play from about '95 on. I had no opinion of him to start with, but my reaction after watching him game after game was that he was indeed an excellent hockey player but every time he dove - which he did often - he took away from what he should have been remembered for. And that is, his stellar play on the ice.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted February 14, 2010 Since the Wings play tonight, I doubt Lidstrom would have gone over to carry the flag anyway.
Kwame_Kilpatrick 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2010 forsberg will always be a hero in sweden because of lilleheimer olympics of 1994, he did one of the most famous moves ever so it is impossible to ignore this. sundin should not be more celebrated than lids but is, if you remember from 2006 i believe nicklas scored a nice snipe from the point in the gold medal game. also i would say even alfredsson has been better for sweden. although overall the generation of sundiny, foppy, liddy, and alfreddy will be the best swedish generation ever may b
