What about Darren Banks? Don't remember him ever being on the Wings but he is on the alumni. He played several years on the Vipers as their enforcer. He is a very big (not fat but a big stocky) black man.

Looks like a good fit, but I can't link him to #17.

Side note.....I've never asked anyone for their autograph, so I wouldn't know, but it is common practice to ask people for autographs when you don't even know them? I find that a little funny.

I'm pretty sure the greatest ending to this thread is someone from the boards popping in and saying, "So you're the guy that asked me for an autograph!"

Well - this article has a picture of a guy named Doug Kreit wearing #17 in a RW alumni game in 2007. I don't think it's his autograph, but apparently the team sometimes has some random dudes suit up with them. Maybe it's a random?

The amount of hockey knowledge on this board never ceases to amaze me. I've never even heard of Darren Banks.

A little research shows him wear 56, 24, and 29 - so I wouldn't be surprised to see that he's adopted 17 now.
