plopster 136 Report post Posted May 26, 2010 I like how this year they start the finals 5 days after the last game of the CF but last year they only gave them two days. Awesome, sounds fair to me.
under_par_00 45 Report post Posted May 26, 2010 (edited) I like how this year they start the finals 5 days after the last game of the CF but last year they only gave them two days. Awesome, sounds fair to me. Remember when Lids had his balls ripped apart, Dats had a sore foot, and many other injuries? Yea, let's start the finals 2 days after the Chicago series. Last year, correct me if I am wrong, but we beat Chicago in 5, and Pittsburgh beat Carolina in 4. The finals start 2 days after game 5 between Detroit and Chicago. This year, Philly beat Montreal in 5, and Chicago beat San Jose in 4. The finals start 5 days after game 5 between Philly and Montreal. Nice work NHL!! Maybe the Eagles were playing a few shows at the Joe, thus needing to start the Stanley Cup Finals immediately. Edited May 26, 2010 by under_par_00
toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted May 26, 2010 If you think logically about it though, last year's finals started the first weekend after the CF's ended, same as this year. Difference is that this year's CF's ended earlier in the week vs. last year. Also, didn't last year start on a Sunday vs. this year starting on a Saturday? Travis 576 Report post Posted May 26, 2010 I don't know how many more times it can be stated that it's all due to NBC's scheduling, the NHL's desire to get on their games on national TV, and whatever events might be going on at the respective arenas. Sigh. 1 Wings_Fan_In_Exile reacted to this

Firehawk 305 Report post Posted May 26, 2010 I was saying this as soon as I heard about the schedule. It's not right at all. We still won both games and really have no excuse to losing the series since we had a 2-0 lead, but we were definitely banged up and who knows if 3-4 more days would have helped our injuries out. It is definitely frustrating, although I do understand that TV schedules drive it.
