I know it's supposed to be a big deal, but I couldn't care less - though I love the awards, and this year's awards show was pretty disappointing since Jimmy Howard didn't win the Calder Trophy. HankthaTank 1,100 Report post Posted July 15, 2010 Was nearly as nauseating as the NHL awards. No real hockey awards other than the Hawks up for best team . Didn't keep it on long enough to care. Speed, hitting, FIGHTING!!, as much scoring as football (if goals were 7s). I really don't get it, maybe its cause they can't relate to it, i don't know? They just need to open america's eyes to it and show everyone that hockey isn't the boring back and forth game that everyone thinks it is. Extremely similar to where I live, where hockey in general is just an afterthought for a lot of people. Neither is going to change anytime soon so it's pointless, at least to me, to get all pissy at ESPN or to try to forcefeed hockey on people down here that probably won't care that badly about it. I like watching hockey, I find ways to watch it either on TV or online, that's good enough for me. Not everybody has to like it, nor do all networks have to cover it (yeah I know, it's ESPN though, supposedly should cover everything possible in professional/college sports, etc.).
