Bring Back The Bruise Bros 1,029 Report post Posted July 18, 2010 Now that we are well into free agency, many players are still unsigned, and with the KHL offering mass contracts to persuade players to come overseas. There's been much speculation that the KHL isn't done plucking some NHLers this summer. Some players involved on these rumors are: Slava Kozlov Miroslav Satan Maxim Afinogenov Ilya Kovalchuk Alexander Frolov Marek Svatos Jason Williams Glen Metropolit Robert Lang Ales Kotalik Denis Grebeshkov Ville Koistinen Discuss
Hockeymom1960 5,107 Report post Posted July 18, 2010 What can you say. Either you want a ton of money and play in a sub par league or play for less with the best.

While true, there's also that for many of those who jump to the KHL, they're playing in their native country, closer to their family.

WorkingOvertime 536 Report post Posted July 18, 2010 With the KHL salary cap (even with the loop-holes and exemptions) there has to be a saturation point for the amount of players that can leave the NHL for the KHL for larger salaries. Hopefully this means that we will start seeing less good talent (players like Jason Williams are fine to go) going over to the KHL for inflated contracts. Does anyone know where the salary levels of the current teams can be found?

soultrain 43 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 for real i say take them all! i hope they sign for big big money over there, watch the khl totally fold then next season the nhl gets flooded with talented young russians who will benefit by playing with nhl caliber players in the khl. Bring Back The Bruise Bros 1,029 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 I don't have a problem with the useless ballerinas signing to go to the KHL,like Demitra.I hope Jason Williams goes to the KHL.I'm sick of seeing all these girlscouts that provide nothing on an NHL roster.
