My deepest hope is, however, that Babs has spent the entire summer giving Helm "shot practice." I love his speed and aggressiveness, but what good does it do when he breaks away with the puck only to end up shooting like a 13-year old girl who just drank three pina coladas???!!!

Great news! One of my favourite Wings back at a very reasonable salary, it's all good.

Ken Holland: Hes (Mursak) a young guy, provides energy, can skate, hes a puck hound.

Good news
If we can remain fully fit this season, our team will be looking very nice.

The world isn't ready for someone who can skate 40 mph, grind opponents into oblivion, and snipe out top shelf.

A lot of times he seemed like he was trying to do too much out there. Hopefully he returns to his simple game of nailing people (where was that last year?), being good defensively and being a great penalty killer. If he plays his style of game the goals will come, something just seemed a bit off about him last season. Either way I still like him and hope he and his buddy Abby tear it up nex season

Skip to about 50 seconds. Also, watch the rest of the video. It brings back good memories of that night. Haha

If he does develop some hands we won't be able to afford him for several years, because his value will go way up.

Not that I'm against player progression, but I almost hope that Helm doesn't develop too much of a scoring knack. Chipping in 10-15 goals and grinding it out the way he does is perfect in my opinion. If he becomes too much of an offensive threat his value goes up, along with his cap hit. If we can keep paying him in the 900K-1.5M area he could very well be a Red Wings player for years to come.

I always love hearing the replay of Doc's voice cracking while calling Helmer's game winner against Chicago.
