If only there were a way to put Meech's spirit into another body

Great attitude. Glad to have him back in GR. Obviously, it's gotta be hard for him; but you're right - he's got a great outlook.

Plus, living here rules. Maybe I'll track him down and get him a beer or something, haha.

My wife and I take a yearly road trip to GR for a Griffins game (and we hit up the John Ball Zoo, a couple bars, etc...) and I got to say, I absolutely love that city, everything from the layout, to the feel and everything in between... plus, the residents seem to REALLY support their Grifs, which has to take some of the sting out of being demoted, when you get to go to a great situation...

While it's nothing like being on The Big Club, he's got a good job in a nice city for someone his age, and a high enough paycheck that he doesn't need to get a summer job like the ECHL guys do to pay the bills. And the odds aren't bad for him to get traded to a team with injury issues this year or make it back to the NHL next.

I wish him well.

i hope the wings trade ericsson. i like meech and would love for him to be the extra on the wings that fills in on F or D. he's better than ericsson on D anyways. i'm gonna hopefully go cheer him on against the mooses on the 15th or 16th in winnipeg anyways. good to know there's another good player to help the griffins kick some moose ass.

Yeah, Meech is done with the Wings. Even if we did get rid of Ericsson, we have several other players in line to get that spot, not Meech.

He got a lot of crap at times on this board (though Lebda's faults always overshadowed his), but he had moments where really chipped in. I could see him playing for another NHL team at some point, in some kind of similar role to what he had here last year.

Exactly... I find it astonishing that Lebda has a 1.5 mil contract and Meech is AHL bound and Lilja is out of work... Meech will never be a top 4 guy in this league, but has shown that he could be a bottom pairing/spare part on an NHL team... he's nothing more than a plug, but a good plug... and a lot of teams could use that depth, especially with the work ethic he brings and positive attitude

i heard brad lebda once terrorized a kindergarten playground, knocking kids off the jungle gym and yelling "you all come from MEEEEE!!! LEeeeeBDaaaaaaaA!!"
