evilzyme 769 Report post Posted April 20, 2011 I'm going to have to agree that he should be the only winner here, brand new GM with a new team(not detroit) and he brought them to the playoffs.
Shady Ultima 40 Report post Posted April 20, 2011 Definitely agreed that he deserves it. The team missed the playoffs last year, and he turned the team around in his first year and they made the playoffs. Kenny should be proud. I can't wait til Stevie is our GM in a few years. evilzyme 769 Report post Posted April 20, 2011 Whoa whoa whoa, I know we don't call "The Captain" by his first name like we know him personally, let's respect him and refer him as "Captain", "Stevie Wonder", "Stevie Y", or "#19"
Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted April 20, 2011 i still don't get how this award can be given annually.
evilzyme 769 Report post Posted April 21, 2011 i still don't get how this award can be given annually. I think the NHL just felt the need to personally give Stevie Y something for his unbelievable work in Tampa so they made this up, otherwise i'd for see Ken Holland winning every year for his and the front office's unbelievable work from year to year making this team a cup contender every year. TheDetroitRedWings 286 Report post Posted April 21, 2011 Stevie Y should be a lock for this one. He took a lightning team that was a bottom feeder last season, to an instant playoff/Stanley Cup contender. From day 1 he made move after move to acquire the players he thought would help turns things around. Not only was he the man on the ice, but obviously he's the man off the ice as well. Great job Steve! I still hope he returns to Detroit some day.
