Wings_Dynasty 267 Report post Posted January 10, 2012 The rest of this month shows a unique opportunity for the Wings to take over the lead in the NHL and build a big lead in the Central. We have games against the Blues and the Blackhawks and also these teams: Buffalo - 11th in the East Montreal- 12th in the East Isles- Last in the East Dallas- 9th in the West Phoenix- 11th in the West Calgary- 12th in the West Columbus- Last in the West If we can win 75% of these games (including the two vs Central rivals) we will most likely lead the NHL in points going into February. It is not often that the Wings have an easy February and a good lead gained in January will help the team to remain in contention for favorable play-off positioning (hopefully 1st in the West) and will also attract more attention for good trades. Red Wings Addict 787 Report post Posted January 10, 2012 Those games aren't money in the bank by far but at least they're not as dangerous on paper as teams like Chicago or Boston. Like I hate how games always seem to be close between the Wings and Blue Jackets. I don't know why or how but whoever has seen that games decided by one goal statistic between the two know what I'm talking about. I've been looking at if they can make it to the western conference finals beating a tough second round opponent. I really couldn't tell yet. They look better than last year so far but it's close. I hope we can stay focussed and keep our foot on the gas. January and the first half of February are very favorable for The Wings. Columbus got their first win of the season of like the 5 total wins they have this season against us. Ummmmm there are no easy points in this league especially when the Wings supposedly play like s*** against teams that are suppose to be not good.
