Time to show these kitty cats whos boss.

#2461405 Howard = Average

It's not that difficult, the Monster has been playing well so why not start him till Howy is getting his game gback seems like a no brainer to me.

#2461381 12/6 GDT 7:00PM: Red Wings 3 at Devils 1

Ill be there. First the Islanders game with no Datsyuk and now this with now D, Z, or Helm. I should get a discount.

#2455437 11/19 GDT: Predators 2 at Red Wings 0

This team is bad and boring combined. Only remote joy I get is watching Z and Pavel out there and then I remember Holland is wasting another year of their careers and get more upset.

Sammy's brightest moment of the season. Not fighting of course, but at least taking himself off the ice for two minutes.

Is it bad I wanted Stalberg to just pummel him?

#2452628 An honest question about Nyquist

Posted by Red Wings Addict on 10 November 2013 - 12:00 PM

Yes the Wings deserve to lose the more they continue to bury him in the minors... Wait, what was the question?

#2448800 fedorov confirmed for wc alumni game

With the way the Wings are playing right now, the alumni showdown sounds much more appealing!

#2446676 10/21 GDT: Sharks 1 @ Red Wings 0 (SO)

Posted by Dabura on 21 October 2013 - 01:46 PM

Y'know, scary though the Sharks are...if you take out Burns, their forward unit doesn't exactly jump off the paper and smack you in the face...

Hertl  Thornton  Hamilton

Kennedy  Couture  Marleau

Nieto  Pavelski  Wingels

Sheppard  Desjardins  McCarthy

And they're also missing Boyle on the back end.

So we should at least make a game of it tonight.

All his hard work pays off.

Is anyone else thinking we should package smith up with some others for a top four d man?

#2433614 Wings sign Nyquist to 2-year, $1.9m deal ($950k/yr cap hit)

Posted by Jersey Wing on 20 August 2013 - 09:07 AM

On Facebook not 5 minutes ago the Wings announced this:

Official Detroit Red Wings

UPDATE: The Red Wings have agreed to a two-year deal with Gustav Nyquist.

Datsyuk will dangle-handle them all :)

I  don't want Datsyuk to handle anyone's dangle.

If he knew that was expected of him, he would have went home to Russia for sure.

#2428336 So.. what are our expectations for this roster?

Posted by Lazerbeam on 07 July 2013 - 04:26 AM

I'm guessing that we're more or less done - after resigning Nyquist, Andersson and Smith...and, likely, buying out or moving Samuelsson to get us under the cap.

What do we think?

Forwards:

...I don't watch a ton of non-wings hockey.  But my guy who watches just about every game in the league L-O-V-E-S, loves Stephen Weiss.  He's been talking about him being a Wing for years.  The early reports I've read all sound great too.  I'm excited.  I think we've finally got our second line center.  Enables us to play Pav and Hank together full-time, which is big.  Not sure how the rest of the top six - Alfie, Mule and Abby (or Bert?  I hope not) - is organized.  But I think our top six will be markedly better as a whole.  That third line that was so great in the post-season is still more or less in tact, with Tatar in for Brunner.  I like that.  Helm being back would be a big boost.  Miller, Bert, Eaves, Tootoo.  Shouldn't be terrible.

Defensivel
y:

...Should be better here as well.  DD back full-time is enormous.  Smith, Kindl (and Lashoff too) with a
year under their belt.  Quincey with a year back under his belt.  Kronner and E with a year of no Lidstrom under their belt.  Should be a better year for these guys.

...And Jimm
y.  Last year was big for his confidence, I think.  He thinks of himself as an elite goaltender now.  And that can't hurt.

QUESTIONS FOR THE BOARD:

How is this squad going to compete with the Boston's, Pittsburgh's, etc. of the big bad East?  What are our biggest weaknesses, as you see them?  Is there any hope for alleviating said weaknesses before the post-season?

OK, people got get this straight before they post, I am sick of seeing this all over the forums---Samuelsson CANNOT be bought out now, the period for Compliance Buyouts ended June 30. ALSO-Sammy has a NTC=NO TRADE CLAUSE. Third- if they Waive him his Salary of $3Mil STILL COUNTS AGAINST THE CAP because he is OVER 35-unless someone claims him.

Waste of money, waste of time. What a joke.

The next guy who takes a stupid penalty, better make sure he paralyzes someone in the process.

Meaningless crosschecks aren't going to do the job.
