#2542187 10/18 GDT - Maple Leafs 0 at Red Wings 1 (OT)

Posted by SimonSin on 18 October 2014 - 06:04 PM

Leafs should come hard tonight, gotta play a full 60 minutes. Going to be a lot of Leafs fans in attendance. And hopefully Weiss can show something tonight. Hate to see 5 million dollars just sitting around and not playing.

#2540631 Fan turnout at last night's Panthers' game

Seats will be empty when your team sucks. But a mixture of a bad team and not being in a hockey market is a disaster. I saw that FLA-OTT game last night and it was BAD. Honestly though, Wings have had their share of attendance problems too. Not as bad as Florida but there are some nights the empty seats are kind of embarrassing. The other night against Anaheim was one of those nights.

He had his stick on Kronwall's glove. Doesn't matter if his hook contributed to the fall. That was hooking, not tripping.

And of course Tatar doesn't get hurt on the actual cross check but gets kneed in the head by the ref....lol. Our bad luck is amazing. I wish we had a tough guy, someone needs to knock Comeau's head off. Bad game all around, no breaks. It's only pre-season anyway.

Jensen looks really good so far.

Mrazek looks really good. If Jimmy stinks it up this year, Mrazek all the way next season.

I just think we're going to have to come to the conclusion we're going to suck for a while before we get back into contention. The faster we accept that the better off we'll be.

#2528679 2014 Offseason League Signings and Trades

Ken Holland can’t give his money away to these free-agents. Nobody wants to come to Detroit. Babcock can’t leave soon enough.

This.

You know what?

f*** Dan Boyle anyway.

And f*** the Rangers. Why would Boyle want to go there? What’s so special about them? They were over-rated last year, benefiting from an inspired Habs victory over Boston.  They are going to be worse this year without Poulliot, Brian Boyle, Stralman, Brassard, etc.

I agree. I just had family in from New York and they even said that the Rangers surprised the hell out of everyone going to the finals. They won't be much next year. i wasn't crazy about Boyle coming here anyway.

That first month is pretty brutal. But I expect the squad to be healthy and ready for the new season. Hopefully we make some trades or signings and we can get back to having some consistency.

#2522406 WCF: (6) California Dreamin' v (5) The Night Chicago Died

Posted by SimonSin on 01 June 2014 - 10:15 PM

KINGS! That was the loudest I ever cheered for a goal not scored by the Red Wings.

What a series. I honestly want the Rangers to win it all now, but the main goal of no Blackhawks, Penguins, or Bruins is accomplished.

LoL! I NEVER in my life cheered that loud for another team. I was jumping up and down.

I hate to say it but if Chicago wins the cup again which after tonight I think they will, they're going to make people forget what the Wings have done in the past two decades. They'll be the first to repeat since the Wings and their 3rd cup in 5 years. I'm reallyf****** pissed LA couldn't finish them off.

Oh and I thought I'd share this with you guys. Pretty cool stat that probably a lot of us don't know.

Numbers Never Lie @ESPN_Numbers 59m

Canadiens just won their 14th Game 7, which ties Red Wings for MOST in NHL history.

#2518671 Next Seasons Needs/Team Future

He is the real deal. Look at the talent the Pens have on the back end, then look at his ice time. He has earned it. At his age, he is also only coming into his prime. Adding him would be as perfect a fit as adding Rafalski was back in 2007.

Crazier things have happened when GM's get desperate to keep their job.

I agree. I really hope Kenny pushes for him hard. He'll definitely be one of the most targeted guys come July 1st though.

I think the Wings should push really hard for Matt Niskanen. I made a thread about this a little while back and the guy is producing in the playoffs. He seems to be solid defensively and he can score. 27 years old, right handed shot. When he hits the market he's going to be that really hott chic at the club that every guy is after. He's definitely going to get 5-6 million a year. He would be a huge upgrade on the blue line.
