I've tried to find that thread many times, but failed. Maybe someone can help me with that. There was a HUGE thread on LGW after the 2010 offseason talking about how the Blackhawks would crumble as they lost many key players from their first Cup team. Sadly, as we all know, that did not happen.

Dude, I was 24 when that thread was started. Don't even go there. 24 years old, still in school (girls in their early 20's all around), with my whole future in front of me. Rooting for a hockey team that made runs in the postseason. Those were the days.

Amen. Overhyping prospects is this forum's favorite pastime. We should have a team full of all stars by now from all the hoopla I've had to hear over the years about how good some of these prospects are.

We should call up my boy MciIrath to run him all game long for making these comments.

We'd be getting our asses kicked multiple times a year by the Blackhawks and Blues, and having to listen to their annoying fan bases gloating about it and chanting about how much the Wings suck.

They could have a "Fight Night at the Joe" Part 2. Almost the 20th anniversary of the game.

I thought this thread was started in 2009. Then I looked, and saw it was started today. What are they back from? They won the Cup two years ago and had a good chance of winning it last year, but ran into a motivated St Louis team that eked them out in a tough series. What am I missing here?

The 2006 Oilers had a better roster than this Wings team. I get the idea about underdogs in the playoffs, but when lower seeds win in the playoffs, they do so because of hot goaltending and playing a tight checking defensive style. This team cannot do either of those things.

On paper, I see a roster with one of (if not the worst) defensive corps in the league, no legit number one center, and weak at the wings. The goaltending was supposed to be solid with Mrazek and Howard, but one guy is hurt and the other is putting up numbers like it's 1993. Sorry guys, but this team does lack talent, even if they were healthy all year. Just because some of these players have played well before, doesn't mean much now. A good player has to be consistent every season and opponents make adjustments to players from familiarity.

Doesn't matter what the reason is, point is Kronwall needs to call it quits. His knees aren't going to get any younger or healthier. This isn't Star Wars advanced medicine.

Kronwall is not a top pair quality defenseman anymore.

He's been a good servant to this organization, but he needs to retire. He scored 3 goals last year in 64 games and 1 goal this year in 41 games. Time to hang up the skates.

This roster is not "too talented" to be playing poorly. The roster sucks on paper and on the ice.

What are you basing that on? Because of Blashill they don't try hard and don't know how to shoot or go to scoring areas? That's not the coach's fault. These two players have failed this team in important moments, even before Blashill was coach. They stink.

I finally watched the fight in detail. USA should be ashamed as Wheeler can't land a punch on a punching bag. .

X is my favorite player on that lineup sheet.

It would be funny if his only goal of the season is an empty netter in the final game. He's become so useless at shooting from the point, that we will watch this video for years.

I would try Kronwall on the powerplay in the Holmstrom role. He's so good at screening his own goalie, let's see how he screens the opposing goalie. OMG! Kronwall just scored his first goal since 2009.

Which is exactly why Mcilrath should be playing this game.
