If Probert and Kocur were on this team, we wouldn't have weekly toughness threads....actually we would have them, but they'd be "s*** guys, we're way too tough"

don't be silly . glad to see Brunner get the next one. St. Louis can't buy a bounce tonight, and that's ok by me.

yup. nice rebound. St. Louis needs their goalies to wake up this year. about time for Cleary.

Isles acquire Tim Thomas to get to cap floor.

Maybe the B's traded Thomas to the Isles cause he bailed on them this year and they know the Isles will try to keep him a la Nabokov if he doesn't play at least 1 game and then the Bruins can laugh as Thomas has to burn another year with the Isles. 7-1-1 with Rask....Thomas' services are not required in Boston any longer.

    Mike Ilitch's Apearance

I'll go on record saying that I have a problem with threads criticizing Mike Ilitch. He's not a guy that you throw under the bus for any reason. 4 Stanley Cups since he started putting money into this team. 4! And if he's 83 years old, the old guy can do whatever the hell he wants. Most guys his age don't have hair to dye.

    Toughness

Sure didn't. If there was a trophy for worst player in the NHL he'd have won it. He was disgracefully bad last year, but then again, he is this year too. He's on a mad point streak, oh wait....
  19. I like the bold moves, but I personally have no interest in trading Filppula. He's been one of our hardest workers and best 2-way forwards. Franzen can go, but not Flip. And what's with the Burrows love? He's a big diver and a D bag. As far as Jarnkrok goes, I hope to see him on the Wings full time next year. Time to take out the trash as you stated. But in place of Burrows on the roster, keep Flip and bring up Andersson for size and forcheck.

    Howard = Average

Every goalie in the league gets screened. Howie just needs to fight harder to see around and through the screens. Bottom line, he's not fighting hard enough.

Tomas Tatar Is Jiri Hudler 2.0

Tatar is better with the puck too. Hudler has a tendancy to throw it away and turn it over a lot. Tatar looks for his linemates and then hustles to an open spot to get the puck back for a scoring chance. He was one of the bright spots in an otherwise terrible game against the Flames. Keep him up, dump Cleary and bring up Nyquist to complement him as a playmaker and once Helm is healthy, there's your 3rd scoring line. As for the 4th line, Babcock can play whoever "dictates" their playing time, which will likely be a rotation of Eaves, Tootoo, Abs and Miller. And Sammy when he's not broken. You don't need to re-tool the offense when it's already at your finger tips.

Petr Mrazek's mask - Think "Petr Griffin"...

The way Howard's been playing this year, which is shaky, I wouldn't be surprised to see Mrazek steal away a third of the starts if he shows up Howard. Time for Babcock to put his money where his mouth is WRT players dictating their playing time.

    2/5 GDT : Flames 4 at Red Wings 1

Lets hope so. Tuzzi has been really good, but guys like Cleary need to go. Homer finally retired after hanging on 2 years too long, after Draper and Maltby did the same. It's getting old. Those guys win championships when they're young. Guys with that style of play have expiry dates. We have Nyquist, Tatar, Lashoff, Andersson, Jurco (eventually), Sheahan to fill out roster spots, but we see Q making almost 4 mil for a couple years and Cleary at almost 3 mil. Sammy's good, but Nyquist deserves his spot, as does Tatar. Dues have been paid. If Dekeyser comes here, he will want a spot and should get one.

    2/5 GDT : Flames 4 at Red Wings 1

A 3rd line of Tatar-Jarnkrok-Drouin would be nice with Nyquist on the 2nd line. But we need to draft Drouin first.

    2/5 GDT : Flames 4 at Red Wings 1

I truly hope so. Fixed. But i'd keep White. Z and Brunner together has been awesome, and even Franzen has regained some of his 2008 form on that line. The only guy that's had all out intensity every shift since the season started though is Z. He's been inspirational. Too bad the rest of the team is on the bench with their heads in their junk.
