He'll I'd be happy to see him be in the starting lineup for the first couple months of the season. Give him a chance to regain his confidence. It's not like he has ever had issues being a liability out there. Time to give him a legit chance to get into a rhythm. Not start one night, healthy scratch for the next weeks. Other players on this team have done a lot worse than Jurco without losing their roster spot. Even if he has to play on the fourth line, he should be playing.

Players develop differently. Jurco has shown what he can be. The kid is just one of those who needs a little time to put it all together. He'll get there. But you can't develop your scoring touch at the NHL level with out actually playing games. Even if he could just get regular 4th line minutes he would eventually figure it out.

How can a player gain any footing if he is only ever given 1 or 2 games at most at a time? He hasn't gotten a legit shot in a long time.

That OT goal was straight up a well placed shot, while screened by his own teammates. Can't fault Murray for not being 6'8" there. Agreed on the tying goal, however.

Canes would no doubt try to get a player. Any good GM would. Holland would offer a low draft pick. In turn they'd meet in the middle. But if a team like Carolina wants that cap hit, they'll get it one way or another. The only way Holland would have to offer up anything of value is if these type of teams realise early that they'll have no problem reaching the cap floor as is. Personally I think dealing a guy like Pulk would be fine as part of the deal. Roster spots need to open up and Pulk's value is low.

As far as Stamkos goes, Wings are one of the few teams that can create the cap space to pay him the money he is looking for, being a big hockey market, and combined with the fact that (if he were to sign with the Wings) the team is not far from being a contender. The top teams don't have the cap space. The bad teams that do have the cap space for the most part won't be good any time soon. This is why I feel like if he leaves Tampa, Detroit and Buffalo are two teams that will be in the running for him.

Oh my f***. If anyone, please let it be Pulk that is the sweetener. Huge mistake to give up on Jurco already.

I don't think anyone on LGW expects Marchenko or XO to be the next Dekeyser. I've seen people hope that at least one can become a top 4 dman. That's about it.

That was unfortunately probably his only good one.

When the main page is flooded with multiple headlines of Matthews each and every day, it certainly gets old. He is only getting the hype because Toronto has the first over all pick. If it were a team like Columbus with the first over all pick, us folks here in Canada would barely hear about him. The second the kid struggles, the media and fan base will turn on the kid. He is being set up as the Leafs saving grace. That's not the kind of pressure you want to put on an 18 year old kid.

Seriously though. Every time the guy touches the puck TSN turns it into a must see moment. He is in their headlines daily. More than Crosby or McDavid EVER were. And it got quite bad with those two.

Says who? It's cute people think he will walk away from KHL money for a 3-5 million dollar contract. Stamkos is a franchise player just entering the prime years of his career. If he is willing to play for your hockey team for 7 years at 10 million per, you sign him. As would any GM in the league. If a GM had the luxury of choosing between Stamkos for 70 million over 7 years, or Radulov at 1 year for 3-5, guess what? Every damn one of them chooses Stamkos. Besides a top dman, what is this teams biggest need? Answer: a guy who scores goals. Stamkos scores them. A lot. More than Radulov can ever dream of. He is also a franchise center. If you haven't noticed, we've been lacking a true #1 center ever since the decline of the eurotwins has begun.

I feel like I've seen it all now that there are posts on how some would rather have Radulov than Stamkos.

100% agree with the center thing. Even if Holland pulled a rabbit out of his hat and manages to land Stammer; Larkin, AA, and disney.com need to round out the centers. Time to move Hank to the wing on the second or third line. We need him with gas in the tank when the playoffs come. Not out of it.

It sucks that they seem to be waiting for a broken neck to occur before putting the foot down. There is zero reason for Callahan to avoid this hit in the future. Except next time it might kill someone.

I feel it is fitting that this goes multiple overtimes in game 7, as neither team will know how to win the big one. The end will finally come when one of the teams accidentally score on their own net.
