Nope. The LED roof no longer happening has never been stated. As far as we all know, that is still happening and the roof can display whatever they want it to at any given time.

The Peg might HAVE to let him go, however. They are extremely deep on defense, and next summer when the expansion draft occurs they can only protect a few of them. They have their other dmen locked up, and this summer is their chance to get something in return for Trouba, instead of possibly losing him next summer for nothing. Also, if the Wings can get their defense in order by trading for a guy like Trouba at the draft, the team might start to become a more attractive option when it comes to certain high end forwards. -
Alexander Radulov: Wings on short-list of desired teams

This team needs players who drive the play. Not a passenger. No to Radulov. -
what arenas are named after an athletic company?

It was an issue because it was so joakim ******* Andersson can have a roster spot. That's the pill that is hard to swallow. If Jurco was given a fair shot, little would complain.

Wait, are they playing the game on the roof now?

Nobody is saying the transition will happen over night. Hank is nit a player other teams will decide to no longer worry about, despite what many folks here think. -
Welcome to the 21St century, everyone. Advertising is the way of life. The building will be amazing regardless of what it's called.

Larkin and AA will also keep getting better. The sky isn't falling. -

Two summers can turn this team back into a contender. Will be growing pains this coming season with no Datsyuk, but things will be fine. -
I don't give a s*** what it's called as long as they keep the goal horn. When I'm at the new arena to catch a game, it's name will be the last thing on my mind.

Trouba is a guy who can,be in the lineup now. Someone who can grow as part as the core of the team going forward. Drafting dmen is important as well, but the fact remains is we still need a dman NOW. -

In the end, this is the summer to make a trade for a dman. Players will be available due to expansion draft next summer. Teams will be looking to get something for their players while they can. Trouba is the perfect target. -
ECSF : New York Islanders vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

Bishop was awful tonight. If he played that bad against the Wings, the Wings would still be in the playoffs. The Islanders were no better than the Wings, right down to falling apart in the third. Islanders are gonna have to be a lot better if they are to win this series. -

If anything we could use a couple more Abdelkader in the lineup. Having a guy like him on each of the top 3 lines opens up space for guys like Goose and Tats. Why do you think they've both had down years? They've been stuck playing together too much, giving the team an easy line to play against. That's why the line centered by Sheahan was much better with Jurco on it in the past. -
Pulk is a small player who is easily knocked off the puck. His possession is awful. Mantha has the size and is learning how to use it when it comes to holding onto the puck and making plays. Mantha will be more of an NHLer than Pulk can ever dream of being.

In previous years we didn't have guys with high end potential to start building around. Larkin is as close as a sure thing you'll find to a future franchise center. Same for Mrazek in goal. Get a legit top pair dman to play with Dekeyser and a solid foundation to build on is formed. The sky is the limit for AA and Mantha, and there is decent secondary scoring with Goose and Tatar. There are plenty of assets to work with in trades, and for the first time in a while we can finally see who will be taking the reigns of the team. That is the first signs of the right time to begin making moves. Putting pieces around Hank and Pav these past few years was never the right way to go. The future had to show itself first.

Yes, how horrible selfish of the man to have the desire to build another winner. Shame on him! In all seriousness, Tampa was the right fit for Steve. They had guys like Hedman and Stamkos to build around, and he had a couple high draft picks to work with. Would have been a COMPLETELY different situation for him in Detroit had he become GM. The fan base would have already turned on him a couple years ago, let alone now. I am bummed out about losing Nill, however. Especially after seeing the man trade for Seguin (not that Boston would have traded him to Detroit anyway). But I'd have a lot more confidence in Nill this summer to make a move for a high end dman than I do Holland.

Mrazek is the one sure fire position we have taken care of right now. He had a tough few weeks, but he's young and will learn from it. Outside of that he has been Vezina-quality. As for defence, drafting a dman is such a crap-shoot. Unless there is a sure thing like Ekblad (which you need to be a lottery team to get anyway), defenders are always gonna be a gamble. They take longer to develop than forwards, so it is hard to know exactly what you're getting until a few years later. You can use a first rounder to draft another Karlsson, but you're more likely to end up with a Kindl. A great, young dman is a lot more rare than a great, young forward. Because of this, it makes more sense to get a guy like Trouba via trade than to move up in the draft as far as acquiring a dman goes. The first rounder should ALWAYS be used to get the best possible player available. Ideally this year that turns out to be a dman. But if there is a Larkin available when your turn is up, you take him. In my opinion you start drafting needs in the second round. When factoring out the Ekblads and Doughtys, it seems more high end dmen in this league come in the second round. TL;DR. If we're depending on this draft to find that high end dman, be prepared for a long five years. Make a trade for one this summer to stay competitive and give the team the time to develop young defensemen.

I'd love to see Helm become our third line center again. If it isn't Hank, it should be Helm. Might be best for Hank to become a winger at this point anyway. Let him and Mantha flank AA on the second line. -

Read between the lines. All he is saying is that the team can't be a dominant force like it has in the past. The best a team can hope for now is to get a young core together and be competitive for a bunch of years, then start over. He is not saying we should be okay with scraping into the playoffs every year and lose in the first round. It's gonna take a bit of time to contend again. He is trying to keep expectations in check until the team once again gets there. -
