It feels like the only thing Blash learned from Babs was his stubbornness. With the problem being he has taken that trait and run wayyyy too far with it.

Nyquist has always been good with Hank. Put AA with them to form a new third line.

To put Smith in for Marchenko is insanity. Replacing a dman who has played well is not gonna change a thing if a guy like Ericsson is left in the lineup. Changes are supposed to be mad to get the BAD players out of the lineup. Remember how Andersson was being played because of his pk and faceoff ability? He has done neither in these first two games. Why is he in the lineup? He is slow as s*** and we're playing a fast team. It makes zero sense.

nobody is claiming they will. But it's time to roll with the future and to stop living in the past. We need some youth and fresh blood in the lineup. We have 3 rested players who should be playing. Insert them and play the old guys less minutes.

There, you said it yourself. The coach is relying heavily on older players who have nothing left in the tank. Fact. He is playing a player they didn't even want any more during the regular season in favour of maybe the one guy in our system who can possibly screen Bishop effectively on the PP. Holland decides to refer to him as a spare part. Hate to know what that makes Andersson after being passed on by literally every team in the league. Hell, nobody else even wanted him for their AHL club. So if we're supposed to lose anyway, why not give young players a chance to get experience and grow? Because we sure as hell aren't gonna win on the backs of guys who are 35+ who have been playing 20 minutes a night all season long. They had nothing left in the tank 2 months ago, let alone now. But like I said previously. Blash won't make any moves until it is already too late. If ever. Until he shows the guts to to hold vets accountable for bad play, I'll continue to hope for a coaching change. Blash would scratch McDavid because he can't defend, and limit Ekblad to 6 minutes of ice time per game because of his age. In all honesty I'm surprised they haven't called up Cleary yet. Maybe he will be their answer if they lose tonight.

I feel like Blash is the type of coach who will wait until his team is down 3-0 in a series before he does what he should have started with in game 1.

Blash won't make the changes that need to happen until it's too late.

But that isn't the point. The point is he should be playing over ******* Andersson.

I'm just straight up sick of vets being allowed to be bad night in and night out, whereas if one of the kids make one single mistake they are either scratched or barely played. There is zero accountability on the vets, and the kids aren't given any room to grow what so ever.

We won't win this with Howard. Only shot is midseason-form Mrazek.

People also forget that Mantha was a couple posts away from scoring 4 goals in 10 games instead of 2. The scoreboard doesn't show everything. The kid made things happen while he was on the ice. It is insane to think playing him with a couple vets in protected minutes and on the powerplay isn't of more value to the team than the 5 minutes Andersson will get to play on the fourth line. Hell, I could stomach Mantha being sent down if it was Jurco getting the fourth line minutes instead.

Our powerplay has been awful (minus the 8 straight games scoring a pp goal while Mantha was in the lineup), while our pk has been totally fine. But yes, continue to preach to us all how Andersson has more value in the lineup right now than Mantha. It'll be fun losing 1-0 and 2-1 all series because the team can't score goals.

Andersson is just SO VALUABLE that Holland waived him during the season.

Helm, Abby, Glenny, AA, Sheahan. These guys have been the backbone of a perfectly fine pk. These guys are all better at it than Andersson is. Andersson brings nothing to the table we don't already have far superior versions of. Meanwhile, Mantha gave our powerplay life while he played. How much success do you think we'll have by icing all defensive players who can't score? Let me tell you: the answer is none. This series is gonna be all about speed and talent. Andersson can't even skate.
