Hank would be fine if he played reduced minutes and not forced into trying to carry the team like Blash had him doing this season. Cut his minutes back and reduce his role and suddenly he can contribute for a full season instead of the first 2/3rds only. I'd say even have him play wing starting next season. Reduce the wear and tear on the guy. -

It's not about doing the wings a favor. It's about another team helping themselves. I bet a couple small market, rebuilding teams are already hoping Pav leaves so they can swoop in for that cap hit. I'd go as far as to say Holland might not even have to actively shop it. -

A cap hit with no salary owed holds huge value to some teams. We wouldn't have to give up a thing. If anything we would get a late pick or low end prospect. -
Some people say he only scored two goals in his ten games. True, but he also hit a couple posts in that time frame as well. The fact our pp improved alone is reason to play him.

I didn't mean they should keep Richards. Dats and helm together, however lol. Put Mantha or AA with dats and Richards. If the worry is inexperience and mistakes, put the kids with two reliable vets. Mantha on line two, AA on the fourth with Glenn and helm. Tell me that fourth line wouldn't give Tampa fits. But no, we are gonna go with slower than molasses Andersson. Unbelievable. For a team being built on speed, they sure seem to be doing all they can to neuter it.

While I agree with most of this, Richards has been an important part of the team. Especially as of late. We will be happy to have him in the playoffs.

Exactly. No team has a complete roster of guys who play a 200 foot game. Pure offensive guys are needed as well.

Put Mantha with Dats and Richards, AA with Glenny and Helm. 2 vets on each line to cover mistakes. In the end, Mantha gets called up, our pp scores 8 straight games. He gets benched and the pp died off once again. I also don't get why AA isn't trusted defensively. The guy has killed penalties for crying out loud. Not to mention his speed can help offset being out of position.

Worst for Boston by far. That team went into a nosedive a dozen games ago and crashed and burned today. Wings had a bad start, but played well afterwards. Raanta stole the game for them really. That combined with Blash pulling the goalie way to damn early. Last time the Wings had a few days rest was for the Philly game. So hopefully that is the team we see for game 1.

The issue is Blash seems to lack the guts to stir the pot. On paper, compared to the first round last year, we have a better roster and the bolts will be much worse. Let's see how it all plays out.

Mantha and Smith have to play. It's that simple. Abs-hank-larkin Richards-dats-mantha Tats-sheahan-goose Aa-disney.com-helm Kronwall-smith Dk-q Green-e/Marchenko AA and Mantha also need far more icetime. It's no coincidence that our powerplay has come alive with Mantha and died without him.
