    2022 Draft Grades

Freidman mentioned it on his podcast last week

    2022 Draft Grades

There is also word out there that the Wings are the favs to land Klingberg as well, and that the issue to be worked out is term.

    Andrew Copp $5.26 x 5

Fav signing of the day. He can handle 2C until Kasper takes the job. Then he will still be a great role player at the end of the contract.

    David Perron $4.75 x 2

This one came out of nowhere and it rules. This signing screams Yzerman wants playoff hockey without long-term commitments.

    Olli Maata $2.25 x 1

Someone who can cover for Hronek's liabilities until Edvinsson steals that spot.
  6. 1A and 1B this season. It's good because Ned was very overworked last season.
  7. Lalonde seems like a good get.

Wings Draft Marco Kasper 8th overall

Kasper will be good. Wright is the one with Zadina potential. I wanted Savoie or Kasper, so no complaints here.

    2022 Draft Grades

I'm really curious to see how the Russian kid turns out. Turns out he was very under-scouted. Could be the steal of the draft.

    Ben Chiarot $4.75 x 4

We better get the Chiarot who played with Weber and not the one who played once he retired.

    2022 Draft / UFA

I'd add a 2nd for sure. In the end, Puljujarvi, like Zadina, also has shown offensive struggles. His shooting average is pretty low, yet he also drives play. He definitely warrants a much bigger raise than Zadina will get, which is why such a trade would be interesting.

    2022 Draft / UFA

    Hence "package Zadina". Keyword: package.

    2022 Draft / UFA

Yzerman should package Zadina to try and get Puljujarvi. Word in Edmonton is they cannot afford him, as they wanna keep Kane. Give Holland his cost-controlled golden boy back

    2022 Playoffs Thread

I still think it's cute ken Holland thought Mike Smith can get the job done. Aso, draisaitl outscored 9-1 in the playoffs when not playing with McDavid. Maybe ppl can stop pretending he is the better player now.

    2022 Draft / UFA

Savoie @ 8, either trade up for Gleb or get him early in round 2. Yzerman gets his Point and Kucherov.

nah man, he gonna draft Savoie who will become our Point.

My hope is his size causes him to drop. We see it happen all the time. Got to imagine Geekie gets taken earlier than projected because of his size. Fingers crossed!

Gross. I put my money on a Tampa three-peat from the start.

    New New Prospects Thread

If Savoie is there at 8, he is the BPA. Depending on how the first 7 picks go, you can make arguments for the other two as BPA in that spot as well.

    New New Prospects Thread

Kasper will top out as a 3C. Boring. I'd take Geekie or Nazar over him any day if Savoie were already taken. Savoie has the complete toolset of high hockey IQ, skill, speed, ability to make plays at top speed, and work ethic. The kid is a stud now and will be in the NHL as well. At worst he doesn't pan out down the middle and becomes a really good top 6 winger (which we also still need).

    2022 Playoffs Thread

I'll admit the bolded part is most definitely an exaggeration haha. In his scouting days, he was certainly ahead of his time. But everyone else has caught up. And in my defense, I did give him full credit for 2008 earlier in the thread.
