Filppula > Ryan, which makes that trade beyond ridiculous. I would LOVE Ryan though. Trading for him along with Signing Parise would make our offense sick. Parise with Pav and Franzen and then Ryan, Zetterberg and Filppula? Shiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. Not sure how we could trade for him though. I don't think getting rid of Franzen is worth it, unless it's a straight up trade or we get something back along with Ryan.

He had 21 minor penalties and 9 fighting (assuming) majors. That information was a few clicks away from seeing how many PIM he had the past few seasons. Shhh....

He had 21 penalties last season. That isn't any more than Hudler, Franzen, Ericsson or Holmstrom. And way less than doofus Bertuzzi. That said, he always seems to play well when watch him play us. He seems to have had a down year, but a change of scenery might help and he provides grit we need. He's a legit power forward. Maybe he'd motivate Franzen.

Unless it stops us from making a trade or signing a FA, I'm all for bring back Hudler at $3m/year for a few more years. He's a 20 goal/25-30 assist guy, all said and done. At that rate he's a giant steal. Anything south of $3.5m/yr I'm in.

I wouldn't mind resigning Hudler for another 2 years. You know who has scored the third most goals of UFAs this summer? Hudler. So long as it doesn't stop us from signing Parise, and, if Holland gets extreme, trading for another top 6 forward.
