This is a great matchup for the Wings, we know we can beat them, we have Franzen and Flip finally playing good hockey, this is a great great matchup, Wings in 5, Bank It, I said time and time again we'd make it into the playoffs, and now I'm telling you we will beat the Duckies.

I'm trying to stay positive about the Wings making the playoffs, but after tonights game, Its pretty tough.

Helm would help cuz he can play with speed and help defense and PK. Bert would be a big help for Dats cuz he plays good with him. Sammy won't help at all, it just seems like when we put him in we get blown out.

I think meeting the Hawks in the playoffs, regardless of winning or losing will be a cool end as a western conference team and a good sendoff into the east. I'm not a big Hawks fan but damn the games are fun to watch, except if its 7-1 blowout against them. Bettman wants ratings, thats a first round matchup that gets you ratings.

I swear to god you people scare easily, still plenty of time left in the season, Wings will be fine. Bank on it.

Maybe I'm crazy but I just don't see the Wings missing the playoffs. I think there is just too much talent on this team to miss them. When you have a crazy 48 game mini season everything gets magnified and the slightest thing can change quickly that's why I think alot of times the Wings look horrible and other times they look like contenders , its just a crazy season, but when their backs are against the wall they play better. But like I said maybe I'm crazy.

I gotta agree, I think the Wings will get in, but it will be a first round exit if we play Chicago

One crazy 48 game year and some fans turn into spoiled brats, there is only so much you can do as an owner and a gm, now we have people making excuses towards Illitch favoring one team over another. Enough with theses stupid threads and making excuses. I like this board cuz there are alot of great Wings fans and realistic Wings fans, we all know we aren't gonna contend for a cup but my god, excuses and whining is getting old fast. It will hopefully stop once we make the playoffs.

I swear you people are so scared of not making the playoffs, we will, and then i'm gonna send out a big I told you so. As far as winning the cup though, that's not happening this year. Have faith Wings fans and grow a pair, geeze. We really have been spoiled for the last 20 years.

When I watch Gaborik, it always reminds me of Franzen, I know Gaborik has more offensive capability, but at the end of the day they play when they want and are streaky, do not want. The Blue Jackets can think they are gonna make the playoffs all they want, its not gonna happen, and to Wings fans who are scared of the Blue Jackets need to grow a pair.

We had a bad game against possibly the Stanley Cup champions this year. It all changes with a win tomorrow, geeze guys we just have to get into the playoffs and go from there. If we get knocked out in 1st or 2nd fine, try to fix team in the offseason, I don't want to make a trade if it means giving up future, that's why we are in this position, gave up too many 1st rounders and young players over the years cuz we thought it would make us a stanley cup champion by getting name player at the trade deadline, and alot of times it was a 1st or 2nd round playoff loss. I do hope that we use Amnesty on Sammy though. We will be fine.

I'm not a Crosby fan by any means, even though i do like the Pens, but that sucks for them. Iginla might be bringing bad luck to the team. Sometimes in sports super teams are the ones that fail more than underdogs. And some were calling this the super team to beat. I'm sure Crosby will be fine though, might just have to wear a protective mask.

With Ken and Mickey I think we have the two best in Hockey. I can't believe they fire Murph but yet Keating still has a job. Maybe they will give us more Shannon Hogan now.

I agree Wings need to lock him up. I'm not a big Howard fan but he has been solid this year, I was really starting to hate him for a while there, just looked like he was letting in easy goals, then Babs called him out and has been solid. As far as Fil I don't mind him, but hes only good if he has Dats or Z to center his line.

I'm not a Howard fan by any means. He is better than people give him credit for. Hes not elite, but that doesn't mean he can't be in a few years. Wings will have to get him locked up as soon as the season ends and before playoffs start.

A lot of things this season are chaotic. Its like bizarro world. That's how i see it. The Wings beat themselves today, yippy the crap organization that is known as the Blue Jackets won some games against the Wings this year. Who cares move on. They will forever be our Bi***es. Tomorrow the Wings will put them in their place.

I agree, realistically we are not in a position to challenge for the cup, but making the playoffs to me is pretty meaningful to keep our playoff streak alive (which is a helluva lot better than the Blackhawks streak). We just gotta keep pushing forward with younger guys and within a few years we can be an elite team again. Right now we just have to take a few steps back and find our new Identity and future great players. I think its with more of our young players in GR personally. But hey we might get lucky and sign a Perry or Getzlaf and challenge for a cup run sooner. I just don't see that happening. But hey if an 8th seed can win a cup like last year, than the Red Wings just have to get in, and try to play lights out hockey and you never know. I'm gonna support the Wings till the day I die, but fans also need to be realistic, we are taking a few steps back and the only way to build another cup winning team is to develop the young talent. Its not always gonna be there in free agency like in days past when we could get the top players.

Look, the Wings got a point out of a loss to a good team. Right now we need at least a point out of every game. I remember a time when the Red Wings looked just like the Hawks do right now and dominated the regular season. But guess what, we got eliminated first round in the playoffs. I don't give a flying F### about the regular season, just get in the playoffs, and right now even in losses we need to get a point. We got a good chance to get some points out of these upcoming games. Besides I'll laugh my ass off if the Hawks get lit up in the playoffs. The Cup isn't won by stupid regular season records just remember that.

Without a doubt Chicago has been a great team this year, we took a point from them last time we met and we weren't playing our best hockey. Now i'm not saying we are playing lights out hockey now, but we have turned a corner to do some damage within the next 6-7 games to get some points. I do think we will beat the Hawks on Sunday, just don't think it will be in regulation. Chicago can be a dominant team all they want in the regular season, but it don't mean anything in the playoffs.

I'm starting to think the Wings might have turned the corner. Last night should have been atleast 1pt. I think we are gonna string together a point streak. I'm so glad to finally see the Monster in net, nothing against Howard but I was really starting to hate him in net, lol.
