    If we would have paid that much money to Suter we would have been hurting in years. What if the cap goes down? What if Suter isn't as good as we think and its because he played with Webber all this time? I hope something happens soon for the Wings i'm really interested in seeing were we go from here.

    I'm excited to see what happens now and what the Wings will do. 13 year 98 million dollar deals each for just two guys is gonna hurt Minny in the long run but its good for the fans they deserve a contender.

    Yeah but what about actually seeing what kind of talent we already have. Seeing what works for the future instead of signing some guys as plan b that might be a waste of money.

    I totally agree, if we don't get Suter or Parise, or make a big trade, just wait and get better players for the money next year. It will give us a chance to see what kind of players we have in Brunner, Smith, Nyquist, etc, we will probably get our asses handed to us and not make the playoffs, but this is just getting too crazy.

    It feels like if we have to go with Semin and Carle as a plan b then we are just wasting money. I'd rather just roll into the season with the defense we have and if we get murdered and miss the playoffs then fine. Wait for D and scoring worth the money.

    Personally I don't want either, Semin always seemed like a Franzen type, and if we don't get Suter then go after a big name D-man no matter the cost, cuz your gonna need a big name defenseman to take some of the pressure off from losing a top notch Lidstrom.

    Geeze its not like we signed Commodore like last year, lol, granted the money is a bit much, but until this roster is set, people need to calm down. Detroit fans, can be some of the biggest fair weather fans of all major sports. Still a bunch of scenerios left for the Wings that can happen. Damn we could end up with Nash, Parise and Suter and you people would complain about not getting Bobby Ryan too.

    If Pens sign Parise, what are they gonna do when Malkin's contract is up. I for one think Parise is gonna sign here, providing Suter does, I think its gonna be a Kariya/Selanne Avs signing years ago kinda thing. And if Parise goes to the Pens, then maybe he does wanna be in Crosby's shadow. We'll just steal Malkin when his contract ends, lol

    I Think this is a great thing for the Wings, he retired when the wings are able to go out and sign some good players, its gonna take 3 good players to replace him. If we get the coveted free agents we want, they will make up for losing Lidstrom.

    Nothing wrong with Z and Dats. Lids should either take a pay cut or retire(I'd prefer him take a pay cut), he is hurting the team getting 6 million or so a year when it could be used towards a guy like Parise or Suter or both. I would love to trade Franzen, I hate him so much(i'm talking crosby hate). Homer needs to retire. Let Hudler go sign somewhere else, I swear they will resign him after the playoffs though.
