Yup take away the streak and the rivalry significance and we got a point from the best team in the league, not bad. Still a bummer. As for the trades giving up Fleishmann for Lang kinda comes with the territory. If you're a win now franchise sometimes you make sacrifices that don't turn out well. Lang was leading the league in scoring at the time and played quite well for us (even with his nack of floating and looking lazy out there). Yeah he wasn't a superstar but it's not like Fleischmann is an elite player. Upper tier 2nd liner but nothing special, not even Robert Lang status yet. Mathias I don't understand. The guy had a 2 goal first game and everyone lost their **** but since then he has done absolutely nothing. He might even be out of the league soon. Franzen over Hossa was dumb, Quincy trade was terrible. Actually I just remembered Green was in that Lang deal too. Okay that trade kinda sucked. Hidesight is 20/20.

I don't know what happened but sometime during the 2nd we had Tootoo's line up against Hossa's line and needless to say the whole shift was spent in our zone. What the f*** was with the matchups.

Man what a bummer. With the team constructed as it is now that was OUR Stanley Cup for this season. I was pretty pissed at Big E and Kronwall for those pretty much inexcusable penalties but we have got to score more than 1 goal against Corey "The Dominator" Crawford. Changes really have to be made, a message has to be sent, but with our front office track record I don't see anything being done (we like our team, adding Helm and Bert is like making a blockbuster trade, etc etc). Hopefully Tatar gets promoted to the 2nd line after today. I've seen enough of Cleary not being able to handle Pavel's feeds and I've seen enough of Abs doing whatever the f*** he does. Abs has been playing on the 2nd line with Pavel how many games? And still has no goals? Even Cleary has managed to pot a couple. He brings nothing to the team that can't be replaced by any random 4th liner in the league. Pretty much a DMac that can't fight, no scoring touch, and no intangibles. Oh and Franzen looked absolutely dreadful.

I don't think there's anyway we're catching up to them this season. This game is more about pride. We do need the points though and maybe the team can use a win here as a turning point of the season.

Sign Iginla, Alfi and Gonchar and party like it's 2002! More realistically I think Regehr would be a solid signing. What's the deal with Peter Regin? What was his potential? I remember a playoff series where he played pretty well a few years back. I've always liked Yip too.

Well he's a sniper (right?) something the fanbase has wanted for a long time. 3.5m for two years ain't bad for a guy coming off a 35 goal season. Problem is the Stars are gonna ask for someone like Nyquist and a high pick and for a 32 year old on a middling team there isn't really a point. If we're trading for a Ryder we need to make more moves to justify it. Kenny seems intent to be a treadmill team while our aging stars slowly fade away. Either we go nuts and trade away the farm to win now, firesale our vets for prospects and picks, or be a 6-8 seed team never making past the 2nd round until Dats and Zett are finished hoping we strike gold with one of prospects. I prefer the first choice in all honesty. We have two of the most skilled two-way forwards in the league might as well use them while we can. would be cool if we could blow them away with an offer for Loui Eriksson. Flip+Nyquist+picks?

Oh man I jumped to my feet when that happened. What a ****ing hit. Also fighting Pronger to almost a draw. Cleary was a warrior. Bad quality but I'd rather not listen to the Ducks announcers. Sure he's wearing a visor and turtles but Pronger is a truck and that took guts.

He's been pretty awesome this season. I wish Babs played him more. He's surprised me with his skating ability and decent shot. Funny but it's true, you hate them until they're playing on your team. Besides maybe the Dorsett shot I haven't seen him make any cheap or dirty plays. He can do his job and be physical without dangerously running at guys or hitting from behind. Maybe he's grown up.

Exactly, Helm is great but our bottom 6 has been surprisingly good lately. We need top 6 players (MULE, Bert, .. Nyquist). Maybe inserting Helm will force Babcock to move Tatar up in the lineup.
