I thought they did a markedly better job supporting the puck down low in their own end last night. The Oilers had some nice crisp passes from blue line to slot but down low the Wings did a very good job not getting outnumbered or putting themselves in no-win situations (Larkin turnover aside). Jimmy's puck control sure helped. It's just something that needs to become a calling card, not a one night event. They can't win many shootout games so everybody gets dirty down low.

Went to LCA last night for the first time. Very impressive building. The concourses are roomy and the signage is very good, you can see what's up ahead of you. That's what I liked about the Prudential Center except LCA has soul and far better architecture. I liked it. The way the banners are displayed made me ill. I'm not wrong. Fight me I saw in the box score that Dylan Larkin played last night. We didn't really notice him.

I went to buy a Larkin jersey on fansedge and lo and behold what do I see? A list of Red Wings top players. Color me interested. No Dan Cleary? You can make so many cases so many ways with stats. We all saw Fedorov's raw talent on display and Yzerman's skill and resolve. I'll settle it in my mind this way. You want your top starman to score your biggest most important goals and near as I remember Yzerman had one in the deepest darkest hours of Game 7 vs St. Louis, while Sergei had a lot of great goals and important ones, he never ever had THAT goal in a game 7 or a giant OT goal like Yzerman. It's a little thing but how I decide.

Gonna have to change my screen name probably. Yes, moving back to Michigan as soon as this place sells and not sure yet where to land in the Mitten. Could be anywhere but hopefully I'll get to see some games in the new LCA and be back with proper hockey fans!
