It seems like this is officialy it but you never know with him. Either way he will be a first ballot HOFer and Wings fans will always remeber him from the '02 and '08 teams http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=643115&navid=DL|NHL|home

I knew the series was going to be good when it started like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oc7kryvcOYo&feature=related

Danny Markov.......wait....best russian? Oh, I voted for Datsyuk. I'm a little bias here as he is my favorite player ever, and as Im only 24y/o I don't really remember Feds or Vladdy when they were tearing up the league. But from the highlights I've seen on YouTube and what some of you have said on here, if I were 10 years older I might have votes for Vladdy. I mean, people say he would, not could, have been the greatest dman to ever play.

I'm sure this has been brought up before and I hope you guys don't end up changing the subject of the thread, but if back in June it looked like the CBA was going to be done by now would it have affected Lidstrom's decision any? With him respecting Holland and giving him a decision before July 1 he had no way of knowing how long this was going to last. So part of me thinks he didn't want to say he was coming back just to have the season taken out and then end up just retiring anyway.

Forget about hometown, nobody from my state(Wyoming) has ever been drafted or been part of any NHL team ever.

Really the division isnt much tougher than it was last year. And around the NHL Pitt got worse by trading Staal, the Kings are still the team that almost missed the playoffs, the Wild are the most improved team in the west and they wont probly wont wint their division, Washington is worse without Semin, and the Devils are worse without Parise. The Rangers are the only team that dramatically improved their team and should be cup favorites. Everyone that has been saying that the Wings will miss the playoffs and get a lottery pick please tell me how when only 2-3 teams have improved and are better than them in the west

Was just wanting to get opinions on if people here think that all the rumors about Franzen getting included in these blockbuster deals could jump start him to be more consistent with him play. I know that if my boss was wanting to send me to a rival company that has no business and where there was a good chance I would be unhappy I would pick up my work ethic. Who knows, maybe this was Holland's plan all along.

In Holland I trust

I'll come back tomorrow, for my safety I dont wanna be around when people start breaking things. -
Rather than post any "rumors" that the one and only Eklund reports on other threads and waste people time just put them here. I'll start "Could Parise and Brodeur be Re-United Detroit (E4)"

I mean absolutely no offence to anyone by this post, but I don't understand why it's a big deal to have Michigander's play for the Wings? I'm born and raised in Casper,WY so to me Michigan has had just as many pro athletes and celebrities as a heavily populated state would normally have, so by now you would be used to people being from Michigan and in the spotlight and it would only matter if the player has the talent to make a positive difference to the team. Living in Wyoming it is rare if the name of the state is mentioned on national tv let alone a person from Wyoming becomes famous, so when somebody from here makes a name for themselves it's a noteworthy thing.(**** Cheney, Matthew Fox, Rulon Gardner, Chris LeDoux) Again I want to say that this is purely from a curiosity standpoint, and I mean no offence whatsoever.

What about trading Franzen, Filppula, and a pick(depends on the pick) for Nash? Cap wise both teams would be pretty close to what they are now, so the Wings could get Nash, Parise, and Suter while giving up Mule and Flip. Not saying CBJ would want those two nor am I sold on the idea of doing this but if Kenny feels like he needs to shake up the team, somewhat like LA & Philly has, why not consider this? Perhaps the Devils money problems forced them to decide between Marty and Parise and chose Parise, leaving Marty to be a FA.

Makes Howard's deal look great. On the other hand he could ask for $6mill per on his next one.

Red Wings OUT of bidding for D Justin Schultz
Wings4Life19 replied to redwingfan19's topic in General
That doesnt make sense to me. Wouldn't they have to do that for every team that reached out to him? You always see that teams don't even want to say a guys name during an interview just in case. -
Steve Ott - anyone interested in getting him?
Wings4Life19 replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
I say yes. Partly because my brother is a Stars fan and he hates that Det always signs his favorite players, he just got an Ott jersey a few years ago. The other reason is because I may have seen more Stars games than most people here and yes the guy plays dirty on occasion but I'd say that every time he hurts the team he does 2 good things to help. -
Shocked! if over 600 goals, over 1300 points, 3 Stanley cups, and an olympic gold medal won't make you a first ballot HOFer, then i give. Please don't let it turn into the MLB HOF

Rumor on twitter is that Pittsburgh is looking into trading for Suters rights. LGW will be set on fire if that happens
-
Your right better get rid of them just because we will be loaded up down the middle exactly like we have been for the last decade. And Sheahan will be very important depth in the future. Without guys like that opponents will just shut down our top line.
-
Nyquist, Tatar, Jurco, Jarncrok, Pulkkinen, Sheahan.
-
But at what cost? Bobby Ryan would be awesome but he's not worth selling our future for. We know Suter will be there, and even though they are rumors, it sounds like we are a favorite to land him. And there's no guarantee Parise will even leave NJ. Semin will be out there, i know hes got baggage, but at the right cap hit he will be a great B option
